Aside from Cebu's pride, Felipp's collections, the event will also highlight on the chicly-designed cupcakes by the resort’s pastry team.

Detailed metal craftsmanship utilizing locally-sourced materials, dabbed with a touch of ethereal elegance are iconic of Neil Felipp’s creations. The young designer began his journey at the University of the Philippines–Cebu, under the tutelage of Kenneth Cobonpue. He has since received accolades for his work, including at the Look of Style Awards 2014, for which he was sent to the United Kingdom for further studies.

Fashion Show has been the highlight of every Designers as Models wear their collections with poise and class. But on June 28, 2014 ( Saturday ), a different kind of Fashion Show will be held at SM City Cebu specifically at their Northwing Atrium. Dubbed as a Fashion Show For A Cause, Upsurge is organized by Club Mega and will be graced by our very own Cebuana and recently titled Miss Philippines Earth 2014, Miss Jamie Herrell. Last year, Ms. Herrell from Cebu City was named as Mega Cebu Ambassadress together with John Kevin Hernandez from Liloan as Mega Cebu Ambassador and both of them will lead Upsurge Fashion Show.

Why Upsurge? Hernandez told FaceCebu.Net, "Synonymous to the words rise, advancement, etc. , We the youth are making a change to our society through Mega Cebu." Featuring the Collections by the Young Designer's Collective & Fashion Inc., Upsurge aims to provide Educational support to chosen 13 LGUs from the municipalities of Danao to Carcar. They target to provide educational supplies such us Papers, Pen and other schooling needs. "Educational supplies will be given to Public schools while we will select 13 lucky scholars for each LGUs." Mega Cebu Ambasssador, John Kevin Hernandez added. There will be a silent auction to each of the Models' dress and the Fashion show starts at 5 PM.

Last Saturday, May 12, 2012 - Together with Philippine Street Fashion writer, Rabsin Dela Cruz, I was able to attend and join this Summer's most beneficial event, Ang Summer ni Juan, A Fashion Show for A Cause at the Celebrity Grand Ballroom of Montebello Villa Hotel. The affair was the culminating or the finale of Limelight Male Model Management on their Male Modeling Workshop done in the past weeks. It staged Summer masterpieces of Cres Abines, Cebuano young fashion designer and the event's creative director.


The raised money from Ticket Sale on that Fashion Show is donated to Gualandi Volunteers Service Programme, Inc. (GVSP) – Gualandi Mission for the Deaf with the help of Save A Life Today, Incorporated (SALTI).

GAIA features the young designers in the metro and some of the City's Best Models. It is set to be held on October 15,2011 7:00pm at CASINO FILIPINO TEATRO-WATERFRONT, LAHUG, CEBU CITY.

SOS Children's Villages is active in 133 countries and territories. The variety of this international work is brought together by the umbrella organisation SOS Children's Villages International, which unites all of the autonomous national associations.


The SOS Children's Village Cebu consists of twelve family houses, the Village Director's house, a community centre and a workshop, where some of the youths are trained in crafts. The smaller children are looked after at the SOS Kindergarten, which is also open to children from the neighbourhood. An SOS Youth Facility is affiliated to the project. The older boys from the SOS Children's Village usually move there in order to prepare for their independent lives. Some of them are still at school, college or university. Others are doing vocational training. The SOS Youth House was opened in 1990. It was renovated in 2000 and a new building was added then. The SOS Children's Village Cebu runs an agricultural project, where the young people can learn farming techniques.
