I've been to Bohol a number of times after a good friend, Geemiz.com Blogger, introduced me to this lovely island. When I think of Bohol, I always see it with vast white sand in Panglao and Anda or the famous Chocolate Hills or the world-class resorts such as in Amorita Resort. But we had a different taste of Bohol last weekend when we visited one of the most beautiful mountains/hills in the province, The Alicia Panoramic Park (TAPP) - it has New Zealand Feels when you reached at the top!

Bohol, Philippines VS New Zealand (pic by Chad Mathis)

    That's me, feeling the moment!
The Alicia Panoramic Park (TAPP) features the breathtaking landscape of Binabaje Hills of Barangay Cambaol in Alicia Municipality. The hills, which rise to 400 meters above sea level, are mostly covered in tropical perennial grasses commonly known as Cogon. These tall green grasses wave gently as the breeze passes, giving a soft furry-like appearance to the hills, which is composed primarily of metamorphic rock - the Alicia Schist, the oldest rock in Bohol (late Jurrasic - Early Cretaceous ) Many adventure-seekers enjoy trekking the ridge trails over the hills and the picture-perfect and stunning green scenery.

The girls ready to pose with that vast greenery background

How to get to The Alicia Panoramic Park (TAPP) from Cebu?

    1. From Pier 1, buy a ticket to Tagbilaran Bohol via Oceanjet (2-3 hrs) or Light Shipping (5-6 hrs)
    2. From Tagbilaran Port, ride a tricycle (PHP 25) going to Dao Bus Terminal
    3. From Dao terminal, ride a bus or Private Van bound to Municipality of Alicia (2-3 hours travel time) and drop at Alicia Municipal Hall or public market.
    4.  From that point, hire a habal-habal going to The Alicia Panoramic Park (TAPP)  drop off/registration area.

What are The Alicia Panoramic Park (TAPP)  Fees?

Entrance Fee - Each trekker needs to pay PHP 35 as Environmental Fee
Guide Fee - a Guide is required during this adventure. You need to pay PHP 350 for a group of 5 Trekkers.

Who to contact for easier transaction?

We were able to get the number of our Guide. You can contact Kuya Loner for details and inquiries at mobile

Bohol has been one of the famous provinces in the Visayas. There's Cebu of course and some white-sand beaches like Boracay, Kalanggaman Island, Virgin Island to name a few but if you wish to experience a new and fresh environment, Bohol is one of the most recommended. When it comes to travel, one of the most asked questions is how to get there? Like, how to get to Bohol from Cebu? Is it safe? How fast it will be? Some questions that most of the time only Shipping Lines could answer. I personally commend this high-end Ferry that can actually save you from your worries. Yes, I'm talking about FastCat - very safe, very fast and very convenient FastCat.

A day trip to Bohol may sound outrageous, but we did it! Left Cebu at 7:30am yesterday and got back at midnight, thanks to FastCat's FerrySafe, FerryFast, and FerryConvenient service. Here we are pictured genuinely having a good time while doing a "buwis-buhay" shot at the Bilar Man-made Forest. Thanks for having the Cebu Bloggers Society. If you're reading this, you might think this is a paid post but nope! This is not! I've been to Bohol for many times already. In fact, I just came from that beautiful island last two weeks ago while visiting Amorita Resort and Momo Beach House. I used to get tickets from OceanJet. But did you know that there's the nearest port from Cebu City in Bohol? Yes, I'm talking about Tubigon Tourism Port. Luckily, Tubigon Port got the privilege of having Fast Cat in their territory. Why? Why FastCat? Here are some good reasons for you:

    1. Fast Cat is the Philippines' first and only Catamaran Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) ferry. Catamaran means a boat with twin hulls in parallel. FastCat has double-hull Catamarans which make the ship more stable and are made to suit the Philippine Waters.

    2. Its priorities are (1) Safety, (2) Safety and (3) Safety. FastCat is a safe and state-of-the-art RoRo vessel. It's also the only vessel that caters to the needs of the disabled with storage for wheel chair and designated elevators. You heard it right, they got elevators!

    3. It is very fast, very safe and very convenient. Yes, if you used to travel from Cebu to Bohol in two hours then you should try a 1 and half hours of travel with FastCat. It also has 10 watertight compartments and no ballasts, making it safer, lighter and faster than the average RoRo. It runs at an average speed of 16.5 knots, powered by four internationally-classed and ABS-certified Yanmar engines. In comparison, most RoRo vessels only possess one.

    4. FastCat was designed by Sea Transport Solutions of Australia, the leading designer of mid-speed catamaran vessels in the world. It is specifically designed to suit the weather and sea conditions in the Philippines.

Everybody wishes to end a month with an amazing getaway from their favorite island or beach maybe. But last June 30, a number of Cebu Bloggers were lucky enough to experience a magical stay at a small but charming Resort in Bohol, Momo Beach House.

It took us 30-45 minutes to reach Momo Beach House from Tagbilaran City Tourist Port. Situated in the Northeast of the famous Alona Beach, Momo offers a homy-type of accommodation to Locals and Tourists who would love to just chill and relax with the clear water of the beach or pool, white sands, good food and of course, amazing and hospitable staff and employees.

But in the morning, Adventurers can do some activities in the Beach. They have Kayaking and Stand-up paddle-boarding right in front of the Resort. For health and wellness enthusiast, Momo has SeaChi Yoga for a unique kind of retreat. But for a father and son get together, a traditional fishing is good for both. I recommend Momo Beach House to those who want a quick moment in life and just wanted to chill.
