Now, you can tap to ride and transform your daily commuting experience on the vibrant streets of Cebu, thanks to the Maya PeoplesJeep card.

Maya, the #1 Digital Banking App in the Philippines, and Cebu People's Multi-Purpose Cooperative (CPMPC), the owner of the modern public utility vehicle (PUV) PeoplesJeep, are revolutionizing Cebu's public transportation landscape with this cashless RFID-enabled solution.

"This innovative card reflects Cebu's commitment to adopting forward-thinking urban transportation solutions. By merging cutting-edge cashless technology with a strong focus on passenger comfort, safety, and environmental sustainability, this initiative is redefining urban mobility in the city," said Brian Yap, President and CEO of the Cebu People's Multi-Purpose Cooperative, during the launch of the initiative today.

Richard Labitag, Maya Head of Acceptance and SME, shared his enthusiasm: "We're thrilled about this groundbreaking initiative as it enhances the daily commute of Cebuanos and contributes significantly to the modernization of public transportation in the city. Moreover, it brings all-in-one digital banking to the hands of our commuting public, fostering greater financial adoption."

The affordable Maya PeoplesJeep card, at just PHP 150, offers commuters a seamless travel experience. Equipped with RFID technology, passengers can now effortlessly tap their way onto PeoplesJeep vehicles, eliminating the need for cash transactions and reducing contact points.

To enhance convenience further, the GoodKredit App allows users to easily top up their cards digitally and soon, directly within the Maya app.

"We are excited to participate in this initiative, offering commuters a hassle-free way to manage their Maya PeoplesJeep cards. As PeoplesJeep continues to expand its Automated Fare Collection System (AFCS) functionality, this initiative with CPMPC and Maya perfectly aligns with our common mission to enhance commuting for Cebuanos," said Brezhnev Tero, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Information Officer of GoodKredit.

With the Maya PeoplesJeep card, passengers can easily enjoy a hassle-free experience. Upon boarding a PeoplesJeep, a passenger assistance officer (PAO) will enter the trip details on the point-of-sale (POS) device. The passenger will verify the details and tap their Maya PeoplesJeep cards on the POS, generating a receipt for each successful transaction.

Starting September 21, passengers can easily avail of the Maya PeoplesJeep card by visiting the booths at the Cebu City IT Park Terminal. PeoplesJeep operates along various routes spanning Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, Naga, and Liloan.

Together with partners, Maya has led the charge in modernizing public transportation, notably with the introduction of the QR ticketing system in LRT-1 stations in May 2023, in partnership with Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC).
