As rising fuel costs and inflationary pressures prompt a nationwide re-evaluation of daily commutes, PLDT Home is committed to supporting the Filipino workforce. PLDT Home is waiving installation fees and has executed timely speed boosts to make the transition to remote work seamless and cost-effective.

The initiative reinforces the government’s call for the private sector to adopt flexible work schemes as a strategic response to ongoing global economic volatility. By empowering remote and home-based work setups, PLDT Home aims to strengthen Filipinos’ daily productivity and income opportunities while keeping the family together during these challenging times.

"Filipinos are among the most resilient people in the world, and we want to make it easier for them to navigate today’s challenges, especially amid ongoing global uncertainties. This is why we continue to enhance our fiber products and services to better support the daily digital needs of the Filipino workforce,” said Menardo “Butch” Jimenez, Jr., PLDT Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer.

    The "Work-From-Home" Economic Shield

As commuters report record-high transportation spending, the private sector is rapidly pivoting toward flexible work arrangements. To lower the cost of digital adoption for remote work, PLDT Home rolls out a comprehensive suite of upgrades for both new and existing PLDT Home subscribers.

Jimenez added, “Families need a reliable fiber connection to work from home, stay productive and connected to what matters most.”

New subscribers of PLDT Home Fiber Plan 1299 and above will enjoy a free speed boost of up to 2x faster for six months, ensuring ample bandwidth for high-definition video conferencing and heavy cloud-based work. To also help ease their financial burden, PLDT Home is waiving the ₱3,600 installation fee.

Those switching services to PLDT Home will also receive a free Always On modem for six months. This hybrid fiber-LTE device ensures uninterrupted service by automatically switching to a wireless LTE connection during fiber outages, a critical safeguard especially for remote professionals and freelancers.

PLDT Home also boosts its services with value-added perks to support work and lifestyle needs at home with free unlimited entertainment via Cignal, free IGV Game Pass for 1 year, and exclusive huge discounts on Samsung home products.

Flexible Prepaid Internet with Faster Speeds

For households that need budget-friendly and flexible options without long-term contracts, PLDT Home has enhanced its Fiber Prepaid services.

PLDT Home Fiber Prepaid users can enjoy significantly faster speeds suitable for both work and entertainment at home, as new load packages are now available at 100 Mbps and 300 Mbps. To further ease financial burden, PLDT Home expands its load packages with 1-day, 7-day, 15-day, 30-day, and up to 365-day load options. Fiber Prepaid users can now load for as low as P19.17/day for a 365-day package with speeds of up to 50 Mbps.

As households adapt to evolving economic conditions, PLDT Home strengthens its commitment to delivering reliable, flexible, and future-ready connectivity to empower Filipinos’ productivity and resilience at home.

In today’s digital-first world, even a few seconds without internet can feel like an eternity. Whether you're in the middle of a video call, binge-watching your favorite series, or sending a critical work file, an unexpected WiFi disruption isn’t just annoying—it disrupts your entire day.

Stay Online, All the Time: Meet PLDT Home’s Always On Smart Hybrid Modem

Introducing PLDT Home Always On: Seamless Connectivity Without Interruptions

PLDT Home Always On is a revolutionary hybrid modem designed to keep you connected—no matter what. It’s the first of its kind in the Philippines, combining high-speed Fiber internet and LTE backup in a single device. When your Fiber line experiences downtime, Always On automatically switches to unlimited LTE—no need to tether your phone, reset your router, or lift a finger.

Once your Fiber connection is back, the modem switches seamlessly—so you don’t have to reconnect your devices or worry about losing your progress.

    Intelligent Auto-Fix Feature

Here’s where it gets even smarter: if your modem runs on LTE for 30 minutes or more, it automatically creates a fault report for PLDT. No need to call the hotline or wait in chat queues. While PLDT works on restoring your Fiber service, you stay online and uninterrupted.

Faster, Stronger WiFi with WiFi 6

Powered by WiFi 6 technology, PLDT Home Always On delivers blazing-fast internet speeds of up to 1 Gbps (depending on your plan) across multiple devices. Whether it’s work, school, gaming, or streaming, every member of the household enjoys faster, more stable, and lag-free connections.

Why You Need PLDT Home Always On

While no technology can prevent outages, PLDT Home Always On ensures you’re never left disconnected. Here’s why it’s a must-have for every Filipino home:

    🌧️ Weather-Proof Your Connection

The Philippines experiences around 20 typhoons annually. Heavy rains, strong winds, and floods can damage fiber cables or undersea lines. While repairs are underway, Always On keeps you online with LTE backup.

🛠️ Stay Online During Road Constructions

Urban roadworks often lead to accidental fiber cuts. These unexpected outages can take hours—or even days—to fix. With Always On, you don’t need to miss a meeting or delay a deadline.

🐀 Defend Against Rodents and Other Fiber Foes

Believe it or not, rodents and other small animals have been known to chew through fiber cables, especially in suburban and city neighborhoods. LTE backup ensures you’re still connected while technicians sort it out.

    🧰 Cable Theft? Stay Connected

Cable theft continues to disrupt internet connections, especially in Metro Manila. When this happens in your area, PLDT Home Always On keeps your home or business connected via LTE.

Your Life Doesn’t Pause—And Neither Should Your Internet

PLDT Home Always On isn’t just a backup—it’s an intelligent, automated, always-ready solution designed for the realities of everyday life. Whether you’re working from home, attending virtual classes, or simply unwinding online, you can count on PLDT to keep you connected.

PLDT makes customer calls easier with Cebuano language option
PLDT Home mas gipadali ang serbisyo sa kustomer pinaagi sa bag-ong Cebuano language hotline option

PLDT Home enhances its customer service portfolio as it expands its 171 hotline with Cebuano language support. Starting this month, the Cebuano language option will be available for callers on 171, making connections easier and personalized for Cebuano-speaking callers.

“We want to connect better with our customers by improving our customer care channels. Localizing our hotline for Cebuano speakers is a significant step in that direction,” said Jeremiah de la Cruz, PLDT Senior Vice President and Head of Consumer Business-Home.

The new 171 hotline experience begins with a welcome message, both in English and Cebuano. If the call comes from the Cebu area code (032), callers will first hear a greeting in Cebuano, followed by an English option. Customers who select Cebuano as their preferred language will be connected to a Cebuano-speaking agent. This ensures that every customer can communicate in the language they are most comfortable with, enhancing their call experience.

With the addition of the Cebuano language option, PLDT Home is making customer interactions more personal. Customers can now communicate their concerns in Cebuano, ensuring they are understood and assisted promptly by Cebuano-speaking agents, whether for service inquiries, technical support, and other after-sales concerns.

This initiative aligns with PLDT's commitment to providing accessible and reliable customer service, a key part of its broader goal to elevate the overall customer experience. This year, PLDT Home has introduced several customer service enhancements, including digital chatbots, proactive customer updates, and improved installation and repair services.

“We plan to add more dialects in the future and continue innovating our customer care channels,” dela Cruz added.

“It felt like forever.”  This is how Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Marquez Dee described the moment when she was announced as the winner last May.

PLDT chairman Manny V. Pangilinan with (L-R) Miss Universe Philippines 2023 2nd Runner-up Angelique Manto, Miss Universe Philippines 2023 and PLDT Home Ambassador Michelle Marquez Dee, Miss Charm Philippines 2024 Krishnah Marie Gravidez, and Miss Universe Philippines 2023 1st Runner-up Christine Juliane Opiaza.

“All you can hope for is that destiny is on your side — and it was on that night of May 13. When they finally called my name, honestly, I just felt like all the hard work paid off. When you’ve dedicated your whole life and everything for that moment to happen, mapapabagsak ka. I actually bent over because of relief, happiness, and gratitude.”

28-year-old Michelle will represent the Philippines at Miss Universe in El Salvador in November.

She is the finest fit, even PLDT Inc. Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan himself said upon meeting her, along with the other Miss Universe Philippines queens at a PLDT and Smart exclusive meet-and-greet with executives and employees at Ramon Cojuangco Building in Makati City recently.

“We could think of no better woman to proudly bear the flag at this year’s Miss Universe pageant than Michelle,” Pangilinan said. “She is smart with her confidence and authentic with her advocacies. We at PLDT fully stand beside her. We have no doubt that she will be one of the strongest queens in the field, and that she will go very far.”

    Deepening her connections

Michelle celebrates, and at the same time, bears on her shoulders the legacy of her mother Melanie Marquez in the pageant world. Melanie is the youngest Miss International, winning the title when she was only 15 years old in 1979. Later on, she became a successful actress, starring in comedy films and TV sitcoms.

An actress, model, and PLDT Home ambassador, Michelle enjoys a close relationship with her parents and siblings, with whom she always stays connected through video calls.

“My mom is one of my biggest inspirations. She is responsible for why I am so strong,” she says. “She is somebody that I really look up to. She was nothing but proud. She instilled in my mind that I should shine as my own woman, be confident in what I have and what I have to offer.”

PLDT Home Senior Vice President and Head for Consumer Business Jeremiah de la Cruz with (L-R) Miss Universe Philippines 2023 2nd Runner-up Angelique Manto, Miss Charm Philippines 2024 Krishnah Marie Gravidez, Miss Universe Philippines 2023 and PLDT Home Ambassador Michelle Marquez Dee, and Miss Universe Philippines 2023 1st Runner-up Christine Juliane Opiaza.

On the night Michelle won, pageant fans went wild when they saw what netizens dubbed “the snake walk.” She recalls, “The inspiration was really my mother. My trainer Ian Mendajar and I were conceptualizing the walk and really trying to personalize my choreography. We had always aspired to integrate my mom as an inspiration throughout my journey and we felt like this was the right moment.”

Michelle wanted to do something special during the coronation night because it was Mother’s Day the following day. “I dedicated my whole journey to my mom and my family. I owe it to them that I’m a strong and empowered individual.”

Michelle’s international pageant journey would have commenced in 2019 when she won Miss World Philippines, but the pandemic happened. She then joined Miss Universe Philippines 2022, where she won Miss Universe Philippines Tourism, second to Filipino-Italian Celeste Cortesi who won the crown, with the two becoming close friends over time. Early this year, Michelle became part of the cast of the fantasy drama Mga Lihim ni Urduja, which premiered in February, and throughout the MUP competition — where she first had to compete to represent Makati — she was running on only a few hours of sleep between the pageant competition and taping.

Throughout her busy schedule, Michelle constantly communicated with her family and friends. And thanks to social media, powered by the fastest broadband connection provided by PLDT Home, she realized just how much of a positive impact she had on her fans and that she could have on young people – especially young girls who aspire to be successful in and outside the pageant circuit.

“Miss Universe is undoubtedly one of the biggest platforms to really create positive change around the world, and that’s my main goal. I want to set a great example for people to become empowered and transformational leaders,” she says. “To finally walk this path is absolutely amazing. I’ve had one of the hardest times in the past few months, and it was all worth it. Hard work and dedication can get you anywhere you want in life.”

Spreading the word on her causes

Now that she has an enormous opportunity to push her advocacies and start conversations around autism, Michelle says that everything she does must have a purpose.

“My two siblings on the autism spectrum are my lifelong mission. Being able to give to them what they need and to be a part of the solution is something that I don't take lightly. I know the kind of life I want them to live, I know what is lacking in the Philippines and the world. It means the world to me to be part of such a positive change for my siblings and for everybody that's on the autism spectrum as well.”

“At Autism Society Philippines, we see every individual on the spectrum as having their own talent and we want them to live fulfilled and empowered lives. That's why I really advocate for acceptance, inclusivity, and awareness. My two siblings were also there during the coronation night, cheering for me. I knew that they understood that this competition was for them,” she adds.

Michelle is a true example of a Filipino with an open and welcoming heart for everyone regardless of color, gender, or station in life. Even at a young age, she was participating in the charities her family was involved in. Her grandmother founded the Inner Peace Foundation over 40 years ago, which Michelle now heads.

“My father always taught me that if you have the means to give back, then you should always give back. I’m so grateful to have such strong pillars in my life, teaching me that the only way to go is to make sure that people around you are safe and taken care of.”

    Going back to her roots
Michelle takes to heart the lesson her family taught her: “To always walk life full of gratitude, love and kindness.”

No wonder that when she was asked during the pageant what to her is the best the country can offer the world, she answered straight from the heart. It’s always the people. As she said, “We are the true heart and soul of the Philippines with the way we are hospitable, with our warm smiles. And we are the reason why the world keeps coming back for more. No matter where the universe takes me, I'll always be proud to call the Philippines my home. And no matter what happens I will always be proud to call myself Pinoy.”

(PRESS RELEASE) PLDT Inc. (PLDT) has achieved a five-peat win at the Ookla® Speedtest Awards™ 2022 -- a first for PLDT, and for the Philippines.

Global benchmarking company Ookla® announced that PLDT, the country’s largest digital services provider, achieved a top speed score of 86.52 in 2022, affirming the telco’s dominance and consistent performance in delivering the country’s fastest Internet speeds for the fifth consecutive year.

    Leading the Philippines’ digital transformation

PLDT has consistently dominated the Ookla® Speedtest Awards™ for five consecutive years as a result of the telco giant’s aggressive network expansion and drive to lift the quality of customer experience.

The PLDT Group has been supporting the country’s digitalization by bringing the benefits of connectivity and other digital services to more areas in the Philippines. In 2022, PLDT recorded a total of 6.08 million fiber-powered ports, covering around 17,700 barangays across the country.

“PLDT’s commitment is to help build and empower the nation by setting the bar high in providing world-class digital services for Filipinos,” said PLDT President and CEO Alfredo S. Panlilio. “For the past five years, PLDT has made big strides to elevate our customers’ experience by delivering the best-fixed network services. We intend to keep this momentum and to go above and beyond in ensuring that our customers get the best digital experience wherever they need it – at home, school, or the office.”

PLDT remains the only telco in the Philippines that can deliver the fastest fiber-optic speeds of up to 10 Gbps, which was made available to the public as early as 2021. This groundbreaking move has placed the Philippines alongside first-world nations in terms of ultra-fast internet speeds including South Korea, Japan, Norway, Italy, New Zealand, and USA.

As of end-2022, PLDT achieved an all-time high number of home broadband customers by adding 1.1 million new fiber subscribers, capturing 59% of fiber customer industry growth for 2022. This brought PLDT Home’s total fiber subscribers to 2.9 million.

PLDT Home continues to be the trusted telco provider of Filipinos that delivers the fastest internet and future-ready innovations in their homes. Leading innovations for the home broadband segment in 2022, PLDT Home boosted its efforts to give customers the best digital experience at home by increasing the speeds of all its Fiber plans up to two times faster than previous speeds.

The PLDT Group, through its ICT subsidiary ePLDT, also provides data center, multi-cloud, and cybersecurity solutions that enable the digital transformation of large companies, Micros, and Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to help drive the country’s inclusive economic growth. Leveraging on PLDT’s advanced infrastructure, ePLDT is the country’s leading provider of data centers and multi-cloud managed service offerings.

The Most Coveted Ookla Speedtest Award

PLDT is the only telco in the Philippines that has ever achieved a five-peat for the highest award from Ookla. According to Ookla, only a handful of internet service providers have won the prestigious award for five consecutive years worldwide. In Southeast Asia, only PLDT as the leading telco in the Philippines has this honor, alongside Singapore’s ViewQWest.

Ookla’s Chief Technology Officer, Luke Deryckx, affirms PLDT’s superior network performance for the past five years. He says, “With over 18 million consumer-initiated tests taken daily and billions of data points gathered, the Ookla data paints a clear picture of the performance, quality, and availability of virtually every network in the world. We are proud to recognize PLDT’s hard work in providing the fastest Internet experience in the Philippines and celebrate their achievements in superior network performance over the last 5 years.”

With consistent wins at the Ookla® Speedtest Awards, PLDT also clocked the top speeds in major areas in the Philippines and bested all other major telco providers in 2022 including Pasig City, Cagayan de Oro, Baguio City, amongst others.

All these achievements are powered by PLDT’s widest fiber network in the country which now spans 1.1 million kilometers, extending its reach to 17.2 million homes passed, in 68% of the country’s cities and municipalities.

(PRESS RELEASE) The future of Philippine entrepreneurship is female and digital. PLDT Home harnesses the power of the country’s fastest broadband internet provider by supporting Madiskarte Moms PH (MMPH), an online community of mompreneurs who want to build and grow their own online business while taking care of their family’s needs at home.

At present, there are 153,000 community members who regularly share ideas and knowledge, and offer each other advice, encouragement, and inspiration. The group has helped many of its members grow their side hustles into booming online home businesses that have allowed them to support and build dreams for their families.

The group became not only a go-to space for digital business tools, basic and necessary knowledge and skills training, and networking opportunities, but it also became an emotional and mental support system. MMPH believes in the importance of giving recognition to the passion and resilience that the members have shown all throughout their entrepreneurial journey, especially during the pandemic.

Hence, MMPH launched the Gawad Madiskarte Awards in 2022 to highlight and celebrate the most outstanding mompreneurs in the community. The winners were rewarded with more of the support that they need to expand their business further and their stories serve as an inspiration to every mompreneur who are working hard to reach their own dreams of success.

    Mompreneurs who inspire

For mompreneur and Diskarteng Solid Award winner Abigail Madrigal, support from many people is always crucial when trying to get a business off the ground. She sold high-quality bedsheets on online selling platforms while balancing a full-time job and raising a toddler during the pandemic.

“I started this business with the capital of P10,000—equivalent to 50 yards of fabric in five designs that were sewn by my Nanay. Now, we have the house next to ours as a production area, with rolls and thousand yards of fabrics in almost 100+ designs,” she shared.

“MMPH gave me the important backing that I needed when I was starting. This platform landed me several clients and the word-from-mouth created from these transactions started the growth and reputation of my store, Mommy Matters. The posts that I read in the group also inspired me to work better on my venture,” Abigail said.

Kaylynn Adolfo of The Asian Mommy is a Diskarteng Eco-Friendly winner for her line of locally-made reusable cloth diapers. Her business follows her staunch zero-waste advocacy, exemplified with the reusable diapers and environmentally friendly packaging.

Kaylynn learned that the network of like-minded people you meet can also be your biggest supporters and customers. “Through the Madiskarte Moms community, I have met moms that are now my suppliers,” she said. “I have also taken advice from other moms that has helped my brand flourish. The group has also helped me find customers multiple times.”

Protecting the environment is likewise the advocacy of Rosanna Dela Cruz Kabiling of Something Nice Environmental Corp., a winner for the Diskarteng May Puso award, whose biggest lesson was that committing to a good cause can bring you success.

Her business deals with the proper transport, treatment, disposal of hazardous waste; and reduce, reuse, recycle of scrap material for local and multinational companies. She values the supportive network that she has built with MMPH.

“I am happy to see a lot of mommies today who are open-minded enough to start their own business and who are fulfilling their dreams. The group helps me to realize how blessed I am,”  Rosanna  said.

Madiskarte Mom Theresa Carbonell Buenaflor of Ellana Mineral Cosmetics was chosen for the Diskarteng Digital award, for using social media platforms to reach her customer base with her skincare, body care, and makeup products. Her inspiring insight is that one should always use technology and digital trends for better chances of success.

“MMPH helped us believe that there are still good people out there who support our brand, especially during the challenges of the pandemic,” Theresa said. “I'm grateful for the support and reception of this group because it helped me believe that there are still good people out there who can support each other in these tough times.”

Lou Neri Putian was the 2022 Diskarteng Home Biz winner.  She has emerged successful with her Sy Glow cosmetics and skincare products that are available through direct sales. She was able to thrive and properly manage her home business despite being a full-time mom raising her three kids, proving that with some diskarte and the right motivation, it is never impossible for moms to balance a business and being a mother.

“I was inspired by the other Madiskarte Moms of the group in growing my business, which I juggled together with taking care of my kids at home,” she says.

PLDT Home aims to support the online community further, and help empower more women to achieve business success.

PLDT Home is set to hold the second Gawad Madiskarte Awards in May 2023 to recognize the Madiskarteng Pinays who have shown excellence in growing  their online home businesses and positive attitude in helping and inspiring other fellow mompreneurs. To know more about this year’s Gawad Madiskarte Awards, join the Madiskarte Moms PH online community here: https://pldthome.info/GawadMadiskarteWomensMonth2023.

The Philippines has the 5th fastest internet in Southeast Asia -Ookla®
PLDT, Fastest Broadband in PH Since 2018

The Philippines ranks as having 5th fastest internet in Southeast Asia based on the latest Speedtest® Global Index report from internet analysis firm Ookla.

“The Philippines has been steadily climbing in the rankings on the Speedtest GlobalIndex,” said Sylwia Kechiche, principal analyst at Ookla. “This is on account of the Philippine operators' investments to modernize and upgrade their copper infrastructure and the active migration of customers to fiber, as well as connecting many first-time users.”

Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index is a ranking based on the median download speed that users experience with their internet connections, which more accurately reflects the speeds they are likely to get.

“The Philippines’ continuous rise in the Speedtest Global Index is a result of the long-term investments and hard work of all the telco operators in the country. At PLDT, we reinforce our commitment to provide the best customer experience and power homes with future-ready innovations,” said Jeremiah de la Cruz, PLDT Senior Vice President and Head of Consumer Business – Home.

PLDT was awarded as the fastest fixed broadband service provider at Ookla’sSpeedtest Awards™for Q1-Q2 2022. It logged the fastest results with a Speed Score™ of 77.91, with a peak download and upload speed of 210.83 Mbps and 234.21 Mbps, respectively. These figures were aggregated from millions of user-initiated speed tests on Ookla’s platform.

Fastest and Widest network in PH

PLDT’s improved services are the direct result of its major investments for its broadband infrastructure.

As of end-June 2022, PLDT has further expanded its fiber infrastructure to over 837,900 kilometers and total fiber capacity to 6.72 million ports, reaching over 16.2 million homes.

Last July, PLDT launched its US-Transpacific Jupiter cable system, which is expected to boost its international data transfer capacity by allowing higher speeds of up to 60 Terabits per second. Meanwhile, its robust domestic cable system has a capacity of 55 Terabits per second, allowing for greater connectivity across the country’s over 7,000 islands.

PLDT is also the only telco provider in the Philippines that can provide a fiber-optic service with speeds of up to 10,000 Mbps, the fastest possible broadband connection available in the country.

Ookla: PLDT Home wins Speedtest Award Q1-Q2 2022

The global benchmarking company, Ookla®, announced that PLDT achieved a speed score of 77.91 and logged the fastest download and upload speeds at 210.83 Mbps and 234.21 Mbps, respectively.

“The past years have proven how essential fast and reliable internet services are for Filipinos to work, study, and be entertained at home. With this award, we thank Ookla® for recognizing our consistent efforts to top ourselves. This win reiterates our unwavering commitment to power our customers with the best digital services so that they can progress in life as they do things digitally better at home,” said Jeremiah de la Cruz, PLDT Senior Vice President and Head of Consumer Business – Home.

PLDT Home has been the country’s fastest ISP for five consecutive years and is strongly committed to deliver undisputable speeds to every Filipino household.

“Speedtest Awards, presented by Ookla, are reserved for an elite delegation of network operators that have delivered exceptional internet performance and coverage within a market. It is our pleasure to present PLDT with the award for Fastest Broadband in the Philippines. This recognition is testament to their exceptional performance in Q1-Q2 2022 based on Ookla's rigorous analysis of consumer-initiated tests taken with Speedtest” said Doug Suttles, Ookla CEO.

A grand reward for selfless love
Loyal PLDT customer wins P5 million in Grand Giveaway promo

Years spent taking care of his parents while keeping ties stronger through phone calls with family were rewarded when 57-year-old Rod from Manila won P5 million from the first-ever PLDT Home Rewards Grand Giveaway promo.

From L-R Patrick Tang, First Vice President and Head of PLDT Home Customer Management, Winner of PLDT Home Rewards 5M Grand Giveaway, and Jason Ignacio, AVP and Head of PLDT Home Loyalty and Planning

A loyal subscriber of PLDT for 38 years, Rod received an SMS sent to customers, encouraging them to register to PLDT Home Rewards, which automatically qualifies them to join the raffle. “I decided to join just because, and I didn’t think I’d actually win,” he said. “So, imagine my surprise when I got that phone call from a PLDT Home representative. I didn’t believe it at all at first!”

The youngest in a brood of six, Rod resigned from his office job in Makati to take care of his ailing parents full time. “I never considered it a sacrifice on my part. I’m glad that I was there for them in their final years.”

Rod said that his phone line was his connection to his siblings, three of whom are already based overseas.

“It’s been years since I last saw them, but we never lost touch and would always update one another through frequent calls,” he said. “My older sister said, maybe this is your prize from heaven. It’s our parents’ way of thanking you for your selflessness.”

Since it’s been ages since he and his siblings last got together, he’s musing if winning the grand cash prize could be a sign for a family reunion, especially with overseas travel restrictions now being eased. “They’ve been teasing me, calling me don or boss! I’d love to see them and my nephews and nieces soon!”

    Rewarding customers, changing lives

Customers enjoyed more rewarding experiences through the PLDT Home Rewards Grand Giveaway. Overflowing prizes, including two (2) Crate & Barrel home makeover packages worth ₱500,000 each; ten (10) SM Gift Cards worth ₱150,000 each; ten (10) Shopee Pay credits valued at ₱100,000 each; plus work, study, play and watch-at-home packages were given away in the weekly and monthly draws from April to December 2021.

Like Rod, PLDT Home customers can enjoy great rewards this 2022. Aside from the exciting giveaways, they can also receive Crystals for their PLDT transactions and exchange them for bill credits and vouchers from over 40 partner brands.

“We’re glad to have made 2021 exciting for PLDT Home subscribers. For this year, we have something even bigger, so everyone should watch out for more thrilling treats and promos,” said Patrick Tang, First Vice President and Head of PLDT Home Customer Management.

Start collecting your Crystals now! To join, all you have to do is enroll your PLDT account to the PLDT Home Rewards program and, upon successful registration, start earning Crystals through regular PLDT transactions like payments, plan upgrades, and more.

(PRESS RELEASE) No word better can describe moms pouring out their resourcefulness, creativity, and heart to provide their families the best life possible than madiskarte. The pandemic only saw more of our madiskarte moms, many of whom have ventured into online businesses to augment their household income.

Recognizing these moms and their invaluable entrepreneurial spirit, PLDT Home Biz held the inaugural Gawad Madiskarte online on March 8, 2022 — just in time for International Women’s Day. Hosted by PLDT Home Biz ambassadors Dominic Roque and Roxanne Montealegre, with performances from Jed Madela, Fana, and Gigi de Lana and the Gigi Vibes band, the event awarded six mompreneurs whose stories of hard work, tenacity, and success stood out among 327 entries from all over the Philippines.

Each Gawad Madiskarte winner received a P100,000 cash prize, a brand-new laptop, and a one-year PLDT Home Biz Asenso Fiber Plan among other major prizes to help further her online business.

What turned out to be an unexpectedly emotional tribute to Filipino moms who have moved past adversities and written their own success stories of online entrepreneurship, Gawad Madiskarte 2022 is a landmark project of Madiskarte Moms PH (MMPH) — a community of mompreneurs for mompreneurs created in the thick of the pandemic.

"Providing Filipinos, especially mompreneurs, with the confidence to reach for their dreams and make a difference not only for their families, but also in the community, has always been our mission in Madiskarte Moms PH and PLDT Home Biz," said Patrick S. Tang, Vice President and Head of PLDT Home Customer Management. "We're honored to share the inspiring stories of our Madiskarte Moms and we strive to be their steadfast ally through every challenge and in every success."

With hundreds of entries received for this first awarding, Gawad Madiskarte followed a meticulous selection process and commissioned a group of reputable judges to help choose the winners. The judges boasted industry leaders and master entrepreneurs: Butch Jimenez of PLDT Inc., Undersecretary Blesila A. Lantayona of the Department of Trade and Industry, Annette Gozon-Valdes of GMA Films, Prep Palacios of Google Philippines, Issang Ceballos of Facebook Philippines, restaurateur and chef Happy Ongpauco-Tiu, and Potato Corner and Tokyo Tempura founders Jorge and Jenny Wieneke.

    Meet the Gawad Madiskarte winners
Diskarteng Digital (Best Multi-channel Business) awardee Theresa Carbonel-Buenaflor was already a seasoned entrepreneur even before joining MMPH during the pandemic. She had been running Ellana Mineral Cosmetics — a beauty and personal care brand known for its clean, vegan, and cruelty formulas — and came to realize the need to pivot digitally given the threat of the pandemic. With the support of fellow mompreneurs and MMPH, Mommy Theresa was able to expand and sell her products across different platforms including physical stores and e-commerce stores. She has now amassed more than 300,000 followers on her online pages, earning her the aforementioned Gawad Madiskarte recognition.

“This award is so dear to my heart because I joined this group when I was feeling lost doing business during the pandemic. It has not been easy, and I’ve been looking for a community to lift my spirit up.  Sharing my story in MMPH was very therapeutic. It renewed my hope and it made me realize that I can inspire other mompreneurs,” Mommy Theresa said, upon accepting the award.

Mommy Lou NeriaPutian of skincare brand SY Glow, winner of Diskarteng Angat (Fastest-Growing Business), shares a similar story. An entrepreneur advocating effective but affordable beauty products, Mommy Lou started her business from scratch and then scaled up her business to include distributors and resellers from the MMPH community. She now registers an average sales revenue of P1.6 million a month.

For her efforts toward helping the environment while providing employment in communities across Laguna, Mommy Rosanna Dela Cruz Kabiling of waste management company Something Nice Environmental Corp. won the Diskarteng May Puso award (Best Social Enterprise). With the Gawad Madiskarte prize and recognition, Mommy Rosanna is poised to transform her company into a “world-class” brand that promotes sustainability.

Winning the Diskarteng Eco-friendly (Most Green Business) award, Mommy Kaylynn Adolfo owns The Asian Mommy Facebook page where she sells a variety of reusable cloth diapers. Armed with a background in public health and using her page as a platform to share other parenting tips and tricks, she has made it her advocacy to redirect fellow parents to more eco-friendly household alternatives.

“MMPH as a community is such a big help because opportunities like these are where we can inspire and motivate other moms to reach for their dreams. To all mommies out there, this is the sign that you can do it,” Mommy Kaylynn said at the event.

Meanwhile, Diskarteng Solid (Strongest Start-Up Business Model) awardee Mommy Abigael Madrigal started out her online bed linen shop Mommy Matters by selling bedsheets her mother had sewn. With the help of MMPH, she was able to get her first customers and eventually expand her brand. Mommy Matters now boasts more than 100 bed linen designs and keeps a loyal customer base, earning Mommy Abigael the Gawad Madiskarte honors.

As the owner of CLARA, an online clothing store whose Filipiniana designs feature detachable butterfly sleeves, Mommy Rachelle Patalud has shown how creativity and flexibility makes a good fashion statement. For her modern and casual take on a formalwear classic, she has earned the Diskarteng Malikhain (Most Innovative Product) trophy — awarded to creative minds breathing life to fresh and unique products and services.

On top of the winners, PLDT Home Biz also honored Mommy Lou Neria Putian of skincare brand SY Glow with Diskarteng Home Biz (Mompreneur’s Choice Award). The brand awarded the special prize to the madiskarte mom, hailed for having the “most potential for success” in a voting poll among MMPH members on its Facebook community page.

Each Gawad Madiskarte awardee also took home a KalyeNegosyo Scholarship courtesy of Mr. and Mrs. KaAsenso - Jorge and Jenny Wieneke – and a trophy handcrafted by award-winning sculptor Glenn Cagandahan. Nominees, meanwhile, each won a P25,000 cash prize as consolation.

“Madiskarte Moms PH, beyond educating moms and equipping them with business tools and resources, has evolved into a support group of women, inspiring and encouraging each other as they tread through their digital adventures together. We’re nothing but proud of what MMPH has accomplished in just 17 months, and so we look forward to what more we can accomplish together in the future!” Tang shared.

“Believe me, Madiskarte Moms PH is just getting started. And Gawad Madiskarte 2022 is just the start of a bigger campaign by us here at PLDT Home Biz — all in celebration of the Filipino’s exceptional entrepreneurial spirit,” he added.

Launched in September 2020, MMPH has become a safe online space for mompreneurs seeking out resources, tools, and support to start or grow their online businesses. Now with over 104,000 members and a growing YouTube channel, the community has become a wellspring of inspiring stories of moms who embodied hard work and diskarte in making their dreams happen even beyond the pandemic.
