Here’s what went down during Krispy Kreme’s Y2K-themed birthday bash in Cebu
What’s a birthday without a birthday party, right? As a brand that brings happiness and delight with every bite of its Original Glazed® doughnuts, Krispy Kreme threw the coolest birthday bash in celebration of the 85 years of happy and magical moments with the OGs.
The special event was held in Krispy Kreme IT Park Cebu last July 21. As if traveling back to the past, the store was all dressed up in Y2K aesthetic – complete with neon lights and colorful party favors with the signature Krispy Kreme doughnut photo wall. Serving delightful treats and surprises in true Krispy Kreme fashion.
The special event was attended by Krispy Kreme Chief Operating Officer Sonny Tiong, Marketing Director Mark Gamboa, and Marketing Manager Ysabel Cruz.
“This year’s birthday celebration is a tribute to our Original Glazed® doughnuts which is the very core of Krispy Kreme. In fashion, we see the younger generation bringing back the Y2K trend but mixing in their own little twist. In the same way, we are adding a new, delicious twist to the classic Krispy Kreme favorites as we usher in the new generation or the New Originals,” says Tiong.
With strict health protocols in place, a select number of guests got to try Krispy Kreme’s all-new limited edition birthday-themed doughnuts. Leading the collection is the Chocolate Drip Cake, Krispy Kreme’s own twist on the traditional birthday cake. It comprises three tri-color chocolate cake piped in yellow, purple, and blue white chocolate and birthday sprinkles. This is available in all Krispy Kreme stores until July 31 only.
Krispy Kreme also launched a new birthday flavor for its line of Minis: the Mini Choco Glaze with Birthday Sprinkles. To complete the birthday collection, Krispy Kreme also gave the guests a taste of its newest beverage, the Mixed Berry Birthday Chiller. These two products will be available until August 31 only.
The Hot Light, which usually runs at select times during the day, was turned on for the whole duration of the event. That signifies the real-time and unlimited production of the freshest Krispy Kreme Original Glazed® doughnuts.
To make the party even sweeter and more exciting, Krispy Kreme set up a corner where guests can decorate their own Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Afterwhich, they took creative and aesthetic photos in designated areas.
“This is our thank you treat for our guests and their continued support over the past years. Whether it’s for our Original Glazed® doughnuts or the limited edition flavors, we will never stop creating boxes of happiness for everyone to enjoy and bring home,” adds Tiong.
