Our last Cebu Food Crawl Dinner was amazing! With partnership of Ayala Center Cebu, a progressive dinner in a "Pokemon Go" theme was prepared for all participants. But before we started, we were surprised by Jollibee Team's visit in their Barong and Saya outfits as it was Philippines National Heroes day. Then the showtime began! Food Crawlers were group to three and FaceCebu was part of team Pink, we called ourselves PINKachu!
PINKachu Team ready on their feet!

    Our Clearance Form! Exciting!
Members of Cebu Food Crawl during the special appearance of Jollibee Team

So, the closing event was basically divided into 4-courses from different Restaurants! We were given a clearance form which we needed to get a stamp from Ayala Center Cebu team. All we needed to accomplish were to eat the dish, post it in social media with hastags #AyalaCenterCebu and #FoodPorn. Here's a summary of PINKachu's foodventure!

APPETIZER (Noun) - Food or drink to stimulate the appetite (usually served before a meal or as the first course)

A Focaccia was served in Italian Resto La Tegola, it's their signature appetizer! The cracker-like flat bread used to be salty but this time, it was just good and less salty which best paired with their tomato dip. For inquiries, call 032- 419 2220

SOUP (Noun) - Liquid food especially of meat, fish or vegetable stock often containing pieces of solid food

Then we headed to Chika-an in Terraces branch. Chika-an sa Cebu is famous on their Crispy Pata and some seafood dishes. This time we were treated with fave soup, Pochero With Meat. Their Pochero is so perfect for this coming cold weather! Cebu Food Crawlers loved it very much! For inquiries and reservations you may call 410-6319 or log on to www.creativecuisinegourmetgroup.com.

MAIN DISH is the featured or primary dish in a meal consisting of several courses. It usually follows the entrée ("entry") course. In the United States and parts of Canada, it may be called "entrée".

From the Grill Dishes at Casa Verde

And then the main dishes were served. PINKachu team was so lucky to experience dinner at Cebu's fave Resto, Casa Verde. It was just near from our previous restaurant so we came excited! Their signature and best seller dishes were prepared in our table. We got a really juicy Brian's Ribs, The Dax (Round steak) , David Dean's Tenderloin ( steak on top of a mound of mashed potatoes and topped with cheese) and the giant Mighty Ton (12-inch bun with all the trimmings of 125 grams of bacon, an overload of american cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sauteed onions and mushrooms and paired with choice of barbecue, cheese or sour cream fries.)

Casa Verde Dishes are delicious and juicy!!!

DESSERT (Noun) - A dish served as the last course of a meal

It was heavenly fudge! We ended our progressive dinner at Brique with their signature dessert, Fudge Smores. Best served when hot, Fudge Smores can best paired with coffee. The Fudge wasn't the sweet but I love it.

Cebu Food Crawlers ended the event at the center of the City where people are busy or hungry - hungry for foods or hungry for entertainment. And speaking of foods, we went to three establishments for the fourth day.

    Lunch at Choobi Choobi

Famous of their Shrimp in a bag, Choobi Choobi is proud to be the choice of Filipono Comfort Food. The Restaurant is operated by on-hand chef and owner, Mr. Stan Stanchan who personally showed to Cebu Food Crawlers how to eat Shrimp in the right way. We were amazed how humble he is and he even ate them barehanded. The good thing about Choobi Choobi is the grow shrimps - the reason why they got the freshest shrimps and the dishes are fresh and delicious! Aside from Shrimps, Choobi Choobi got other specialties like  Choobi Crispy Pata (that is crispy on the outside but soft and juicy on the inside), Lola Pepang’s Fried Manok, Crispy Adobong Kanding, Stuffed Grilled Squid, Mama Pina’s Fried Herbed Spring Duck, The Belly Dancer, Sizzling Boneless Bangus, Cha Tao Miao (fresh and organic Snow Peas sprouts exclusively sold in Choobi Choobi) and so much more.

Smoothie Siesta at Cebu City Marriott Hotel

One of Cebu Food Crawl trusted partners, Cebu City Marriott Hotel is again participating for this year's Foodies' Event. As unique as always, Cebu City Marriott Hotel prepared an afternoon affair which is full of surprises and thrills! If last year they created a Social media contest during the event, this year, Cebu City Marriott Hotel prepared a "Make Your Own Smoothie" contest to all participants. We were grouped to five to make our own Smoothie using those local ingredients just like Mango and other fruits. It was ended with Karlo Pacana's Poetic Team winning the contest.

"You don't need a silver fork to eat good food." says Paul Prudhomme. Indeed, when you visit a place, you don't need to go to a high-end Restaurants but instead you should try the Local's offerings and specialties to eat good and great food. The Cebu Bloggers Society, the first and premier blogging organization in Cebu, is once again organizing the Cebu Food Crawl in partnership with Smart and Ayala Center Cebu. This year, Cebu Food Crawl is aptly themed: "Destination Food" which highlights Cebu as a prime spot for foodies and food travelers. The event will be joined by 25 food, lifestyle and travel bloggers and social media influencers from Cebu, Manila, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Tacloban, Bohol, and General Santos.

Cebu Food Crawl Promotional Poster by Cebu Bloggers Society

Taking place on August 26-29, Cebu Food Crawl is a very gastronomic journey that gives everyone a hint and digital experience of the exquisite and delightful taste of Cebu. “Beyond the pristine white beaches and beautiful islands, Cebu is a melting pot of varied food influences inherited from its early inhabitants and colonial past enhanced with modern techniques and technology. Cebu Food Crawl celebrates Cebu as a foremost gourmet destination best known for practicality and glamour of its food,” Cebu Food Crawl Project Director and NindotKaayo.com Blogger, Atty. Ethelbert Ouano said.

“This edition of Cebu Food Crawl promises to be bigger with the participation of top-notch establishments and restaurants like Ayala Center Cebu, Shangri-la Mactan Resort and Spa, Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, Movenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu, Marriott Cebu City Hotel, Rico’s Lechon, Mactan Newtown Alfresco, Gusto Mare and District on the 53rd by Anzani Group of Restaurants, Salinas Restaurant by Golden Cowrie, Choobi Choobi Restaurant, Gibbs’ Hot Wings, Profood, International Corp., Café Jasmin, and Sugbo Mercado, that will highlight food offerings that are synonymous to Cebu,” Ouano added.

“Participants will post on their respective social media accounts and blogs with the official hashtags of the event: #CebuFoodCrawl2016 and #BisayaNaFood for their audiences to follow.“ said Sinjin Pineda, Cebu Bloggers Society President.

MYOH2016 Facts (from Press Release) | Official hashtags are #MYOHCEBU2016 and #MYOH2016

Havaianas was born in Brazil in 1962, but an interesting fact is that the very first flip-flop was inspired by the Zori, a type of Japanese sandal made of fabric straps and rice straw roles. Today, Havaianas flip-flops show marks of these iconic rice patterns, making it a fusion of eastern Zen and western joy.

    MYOH2016 : Slim

    MYOH2016 : Top

Each year, MYOH highlights a destination or theme that celebrates its heritage or encapsulates the ‘always summer’ state of mind and on its 11th year, it is its Japanese roots that MYOH pays tribute to, from this year’s 2016 limited edition commemorative sole inspired by Shibori, a Japanese fabric-dyeing technique, to its selection of kawaii pins. With Japan being an all-time favorite summer destination of Cebuano Havaianaticos, embellishments such as the The Sakura, Ramen, The Japanese Fan, The Empress, The Zori, Ninja and statement pins, among others celebrate the love for travel and the land of the rising sun’s unique lifestyle and influence on today’s pop culture.

On the second day of Cebu Bloggers Society's Cebu Food Crawl, the morning schedule was fully dedicated to #CBSTalks : Best Blogging Practices Seminar. Thus, as the head organizer of the talk, I was not able to join the Food Crawlers for the Lunch session but during late snacks and dinner, we enjoyed each others company for a sweet and spicy affair. Why? Check this out...

Sweet Coffee Prince for LATE SNACKS

Of course, we started the afternoon session at Coffee Prince, the home of the best chocolate waffles in the City. They also offer Tacos, Pasta and other sweets for your cravings. And for the beverages, we recommend their Java Chip Frappe, Strawberry Smoothie or if you're health-conscious, try their freshly brewed hot or cold coffee. Earlier this month, they opened another branch in Cebu which is situated in A.S Fortuna Banilad, Cebu City.

Spicy Gibbs' Hot Wings | DINNER

Finally, Cebu Food Crawl brought me to Cebu's Hot Wings Destination, Gibbs'!!! The owner, a good friend, Coy Oliva invited me many times but due to work schedules and events, I was not able to push through but thanks to Cebu Food Crawl, I finally tasted five levels of hotness of their Wings namely Hot, Original, Insanely Hot, 2Intense and Freakin Hot. Aside from Chicken Wings, Gibbs' offers spaghetti and meatballs, and Carbonara which could definitely filled up your tummy. In addition, Gibbs' give a comfy space to friends and barkada who plan to spend the night with spiciness of Chicken Wings and coldness of beers and their signature, Brew Kettle. At the end, you can cool down with their own Gibbs' Gelatos - try Mango flavor!

Authentic Spanish Cuisine at Ipars | LUNCH

Together with more or less 20 Cebu-Based Bloggers, Cebu Food Crawl's First stop was at Ipar's Restaurant. As personally managed by owner, Chef Ipar Miranda, iPar's is true to its offerings of authentic Spanish Cuisine that caters Family and Friends in an intimate fine dining with a Spanish "feels".  And of course, part of participating in CFC is to give our friends and followers idea on the delish Dishes that this Resto gives. Here are some recommendations:

PAELLA MARINERA | paella of freshly caught fish, squid, and shellfish of the day; a true fiesta for the seafood lover

As a Coffee-Lover, FaceCebu suggests you try Ipar's Bombon in just PHP 70. It has condense milk that makes it so sweet that you might need extra water just to cleanse your throat. But personally, you should take a sip.
