FaceCebu | Cebu Blog, Vlog and Content Creation

Did you know that the Cebu Bloggers Society (CBS), the premier blogging and content creation organization in the Queen City of the South, has been at the forefront of many “firsts” in the Philippine digital community? CBS is recognized as the first organized group of bloggers in the Visayas, the first to introduce the concept of Bloggers Social Responsibility (BSR) inspired by CSR, the first to initiate World Bloggers Day every May 1, and, of course, the pioneer of the annual Cebu Food Crawl. Cebu Food Crawl 2025 officially began on August 21, marking yet another exciting chapter in Cebu’s growing food and content creation scene.

Cebu Food Crawl 2025: A Flavorful Kickoff on Day One

Since its launch in 2015, the Cebu Food Crawl has become more than just a food-tasting adventure. It has been a celebration of Cebu’s gastronomic diversity, bringing together flavors that highlight the island’s rich culture and people. Over the years, it has evolved into a platform that connects restaurants, local entrepreneurs, and content creators, showcasing not only food but also Cebu’s thriving lifestyle and hospitality scene.

Now on its fifth installation, Cebu Food Crawl 2025 comes with a four-day program, perfectly timed after the long weekend in the Philippines. This year’s event promises to spotlight new culinary gems, revisit iconic dining destinations, and uncover stories that make Cebu’s food culture truly unique.

    Day One Highlights

The first day set the tone for the entire crawl. Participants were welcomed with warmth and enthusiasm, bringing together bloggers, vloggers, influencers, and digital creators who share one passion: telling Cebu’s story through food and drinks in five different featured restaurants.

    Stop 1: Bicester Café

Cebu Food Crawl 2025: A Flavorful Kickoff on Day One

📍 Mahogany Place, Pope John Paul II Ave., Barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City

The crawl began at Bicester Café, a cozy yet vibrant spot that has been part of Cebu’s coffee culture for eight years. Since opening on August 17, 2017, Bicester has evolved into more than a café—it has become a hub for coffee lovers, casual diners, and the local creative community.

Under the leadership of GM Jujemay Awit, PR Manager Patricia May Catan, and Creative Manager Alvin Baclay, Bicester continues to innovate with a menu that now includes cocktails and pastries alongside their signature coffee blends.

This August, the café is celebrating its “8finity Anniversary” with promos and giveaways, such as a 2+1 Beer Promo every Saturday, food buckets with free shareables, and gift certificate raffles. Even better, they are calling on Cebuano creatives to join the fun by producing unique content for a chance to win prizes. With its warm interiors, community feel, and exciting anniversary activities, Bicester Café set the perfect tone for the crawl’s kickoff.

Stop 2: BAMAKA Dine + Drink

Cebu Food Crawl 2025: A Flavorful Kickoff on Day One

📍 Level 4 Garden, Ayala Center Cebu

Next, the group headed to BAMAKA Dine + Drink, where comfort food meets a gourmet twist. The restaurant’s seasonal menu was a highlight, featuring hearty dishes perfect for the rainy season. From smoky barbecue pork ribs to truffle pasta and premium steaks, BAMAKA redefines comfort dining with flavors that are indulgent yet approachable.

Refreshing drinks like the cucumber calamansi cooler and fresh watermelon juice complemented the rich dishes, proving that BAMAKA is not just about filling the stomach but also elevating the dining experience. It was a satisfying stop that warmed both heart and appetite.

Stop 3: Misto at Seda Ayala Center Cebu

Cebu Food Crawl 2025: A Flavorful Kickoff on Day One

📍 Cardinal Rosales Avenue, Cebu Business Park

The third stop brought the participants to Misto, Seda Ayala Center Cebu’s signature all-day dining restaurant. True to its name, Misto offers a mix of international favorites and Filipino classics, showcasing the perfect balance of variety and flavor.

Whether it’s hearty breakfast selections, sumptuous buffets, or carefully crafted ala carte offerings, Misto is the kind of place that celebrates both global and local tastes. For Cebu Food Crawl 2025, it delivered an experience that reminded everyone why Seda remains a trusted name in hospitality and dining.

    Stop 4: Asian Noms

Cebu Food Crawl 2025: A Flavorful Kickoff on Day One

    📍 Ayala, CBP Central Park

The fourth destination was all about bold Asian flavors. Asian Noms presented a spread that made participants pause and savor every bite. From crispy starters to saucy noodles, rice bowls, and authentic dishes like Pad Thai, Bun Cha, and Chili Shrimp, every plate was packed with flavor and comfort.

The experience at Asian Noms proved that great Asian cuisine is not only about taste but also about the feeling it gives—a sense of warmth, nostalgia, and culinary adventure. It was the kind of stop that satisfied cravings and left everyone wanting more.

Stop 5: Puso Bistro & Bar at Quest Hotel Cebu

Cebu Food Crawl 2025: A Flavorful Kickoff on Day One

📍 Quest Hotel & Conference Center Cebu, Archbishop Reyes Ave., Cebu City

Day One wrapped up at Puso Bistro & Bar, the all-day dining destination of Quest Hotel. Known for its hearty buffets and flavorful ala carte offerings, Puso Bistro brought a mix of international and local delights to the table.

The highlight of the night was a teaser of what’s coming soon—new menu additions inspired by the flavors of Mindanao. Dishes such as Beef Kulma, Chicken Piaparan, and Tiyula Itum served with palapa on the side showcased the richness of regional cuisine. Dessert came in the form of a Tablea Mango Gateaux, a sweet finish that tied together the day’s culinary journey.

A Strong Start to Cebu Food Crawl 2025

Day One of Cebu Food Crawl 2025 was nothing short of a success. From coffee corners and comfort food havens to international dining and bold Asian eats, capped off with a celebration of local flavors at Quest Hotel, the kickoff embodied what the crawl is all about: food, culture, and community.

With more days to go, participants and readers alike can expect even more discoveries, flavors, and stories that make Cebu a true food capital in the Philippines.

Special thanks to our Gold Sponsors Metrobank and MCUBES PR and Events for supporting this journey of flavors.

It's THIRSTday after all! Thirsty of The Bistro Group's all-time favorites. Together with other Cebu Bloggers and Content Creators and Cebu Media, we had a gastronomic afternoon in all of The Bistro Group's Cebu Restaurants highlighting TGI Fridays, Italianni's, and Watami in Ayala Center Cebu while ending the food crawl with a sumptuous dinner at Denny's in Robinsons Galleria Cebu.

    THE BISTRO GROUP

The Bistro Group, one of the Philippines’ most progressive restaurant chains that popularized the casual dining concept with the entry of TGIFridays in the country over 25 years ago, is present in several locations in Cebu that provide guests more dining options and choices – from burgers, pasta, pizzas, all-time breakfast to dim sum and noodles.  Great food, top-notch service, and a warm and welcoming vibe- these are the Bistro Group’s trademarks that make casual dining a hit among food lovers of all ages.

    TGI Fridays

American-style food, legendary drinks, genuine personalized service, bartenders who rock, a highly-charged vibe, and infectious energy - that sums up the TGIFridays experience.

Indeed,  “It’s always Friday at TGIFridays!”

There is a great selection of mouth-watering dishes with Fridays Signature Ribs taking the lead.  Fall-off-the- bone pork ribs smothered in original Fridays whiskey glaze and served with corn and crispy fries- they are a delight to eat.  Also, order servings of all-time favorites such as Fried Mozzarella,  Nachos, Burgers, Pizzas and more.  Pair them with a drink or two from the restaurant’s wide beverage menu of premium cocktails, bottomless mojitos! and an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.  Enjoy a 30% discount on the Happy Hour promo happening daily from2pm to 7pm.

Hang out with friends and family, see bartenders in action mixing new cocktails, share a hearty feast, party and make merry at TGIFridays.

    Follow @tgifridaysph.

    Italianni's

Over at Italianni’s, American-Italian cuisine takes center stage.  Its Cebu branch serves all your favorite dishes from appetizers, salads, pasta, pizzas, mains and desserts.

Delight it in the restaurant’s classic and most popular dishes such as Spinach Artichoke, Sicilian Salad, Spaghetti Meatballs, Spaghetti Vongole, Quattro Staggioni, Chicken Italianni's, Salmon Oreganato and Tartufo for dessert.

Also on the menu are these new, highly-recommended fare: Grilled Pear Salad (mixed greens, grilled Pears, and a honey mustard dressing), Braised Beef Osso Bucco Platter (braised low and slow in tomato and mirepox until fork tender); Braised Beef Osso Bucco Spaghetti; Halibut Al Cartoccio  (oven-roasted with potatoes bell pepper, zucchini, olives, capers, eggplant and seafood broth) and Blueberry Mango Cheesecake  (classic New York Cheesecake topped with blueberry and mango puree).

    Watami Grill and Sushi Bar

Those who are partial to Japanese cuisine would love Watami, the leading food & beverage brand in Japan with branches around the Asia-Pacific region.

Guests must try these classic Watami dishes: Ramen, Tempura, premium Sushi, Sashimi, Teishoku dishes (Katsudon Set,  Teriyaki Salmon Set) and Aburi, among others.

With authentic Japanese fare and signature beverages, Watami sure hits the spot when it comes to Japanese dining amidst great ambiance.

    Denny's

Denny’s is truly America’s diner that has become an institution in the USA for over 60 years. It’s been a favorite among Cebuanos since March 2018.

From breakfast to lunch, snacks, dinner and late-night meals (24 hours in some branches), the food is always comforting and hearty. Take a look at some of these dishes:  All-American Slam, Mom's Spaghetti, South Carolina Fried Chicken, Grilled Pork Belly, Breakfast Feasts, Pancakes, Waffles  and Share Four All as well as well-loved Filipino dishes along with a mug of refillable fresh hot coffee.

From breakfast anytime to satisfying lunches and dinners, if you're in the mood for it, chances are they are yours to enjoy at Denny’s.

Our last Cebu Food Crawl Dinner was amazing! With partnership of Ayala Center Cebu, a progressive dinner in a "Pokemon Go" theme was prepared for all participants. But before we started, we were surprised by Jollibee Team's visit in their Barong and Saya outfits as it was Philippines National Heroes day. Then the showtime began! Food Crawlers were group to three and FaceCebu was part of team Pink, we called ourselves PINKachu!
PINKachu Team ready on their feet!

    Our Clearance Form! Exciting!
Members of Cebu Food Crawl during the special appearance of Jollibee Team

So, the closing event was basically divided into 4-courses from different Restaurants! We were given a clearance form which we needed to get a stamp from Ayala Center Cebu team. All we needed to accomplish were to eat the dish, post it in social media with hastags #AyalaCenterCebu and #FoodPorn. Here's a summary of PINKachu's foodventure!

APPETIZER (Noun) - Food or drink to stimulate the appetite (usually served before a meal or as the first course)

A Focaccia was served in Italian Resto La Tegola, it's their signature appetizer! The cracker-like flat bread used to be salty but this time, it was just good and less salty which best paired with their tomato dip. For inquiries, call 032- 419 2220

SOUP (Noun) - Liquid food especially of meat, fish or vegetable stock often containing pieces of solid food

Then we headed to Chika-an in Terraces branch. Chika-an sa Cebu is famous on their Crispy Pata and some seafood dishes. This time we were treated with fave soup, Pochero With Meat. Their Pochero is so perfect for this coming cold weather! Cebu Food Crawlers loved it very much! For inquiries and reservations you may call 410-6319 or log on to www.creativecuisinegourmetgroup.com.

MAIN DISH is the featured or primary dish in a meal consisting of several courses. It usually follows the entrée ("entry") course. In the United States and parts of Canada, it may be called "entrée".

From the Grill Dishes at Casa Verde

And then the main dishes were served. PINKachu team was so lucky to experience dinner at Cebu's fave Resto, Casa Verde. It was just near from our previous restaurant so we came excited! Their signature and best seller dishes were prepared in our table. We got a really juicy Brian's Ribs, The Dax (Round steak) , David Dean's Tenderloin ( steak on top of a mound of mashed potatoes and topped with cheese) and the giant Mighty Ton (12-inch bun with all the trimmings of 125 grams of bacon, an overload of american cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sauteed onions and mushrooms and paired with choice of barbecue, cheese or sour cream fries.)

Casa Verde Dishes are delicious and juicy!!!

DESSERT (Noun) - A dish served as the last course of a meal

It was heavenly fudge! We ended our progressive dinner at Brique with their signature dessert, Fudge Smores. Best served when hot, Fudge Smores can best paired with coffee. The Fudge wasn't the sweet but I love it.

Cebu Food Crawlers ended the event at the center of the City where people are busy or hungry - hungry for foods or hungry for entertainment. And speaking of foods, we went to three establishments for the fourth day.

    Lunch at Choobi Choobi

Famous of their Shrimp in a bag, Choobi Choobi is proud to be the choice of Filipono Comfort Food. The Restaurant is operated by on-hand chef and owner, Mr. Stan Stanchan who personally showed to Cebu Food Crawlers how to eat Shrimp in the right way. We were amazed how humble he is and he even ate them barehanded. The good thing about Choobi Choobi is the grow shrimps - the reason why they got the freshest shrimps and the dishes are fresh and delicious! Aside from Shrimps, Choobi Choobi got other specialties like  Choobi Crispy Pata (that is crispy on the outside but soft and juicy on the inside), Lola Pepang’s Fried Manok, Crispy Adobong Kanding, Stuffed Grilled Squid, Mama Pina’s Fried Herbed Spring Duck, The Belly Dancer, Sizzling Boneless Bangus, Cha Tao Miao (fresh and organic Snow Peas sprouts exclusively sold in Choobi Choobi) and so much more.

Smoothie Siesta at Cebu City Marriott Hotel

One of Cebu Food Crawl trusted partners, Cebu City Marriott Hotel is again participating for this year's Foodies' Event. As unique as always, Cebu City Marriott Hotel prepared an afternoon affair which is full of surprises and thrills! If last year they created a Social media contest during the event, this year, Cebu City Marriott Hotel prepared a "Make Your Own Smoothie" contest to all participants. We were grouped to five to make our own Smoothie using those local ingredients just like Mango and other fruits. It was ended with Karlo Pacana's Poetic Team winning the contest.

    Rico's Lechon : Cebu's Best Lechon

Dubbed as Home of the best Lechon, Rico's Lechon become the brand of Lechon everybody is looking and craving for. On August 28, a new Commissary was opened just a stone throw from their old one. The company's founder and owner, Mr. Enrico “Rico” Dionson showed to us the real meaning of humble beginning and how it slowly came to realization. With the help of his family, he is now called the King of Lechonero as Rico's Lechon undoubtedly made it to the top of the industry. Rico's Lechon initiated the Spicy flavor of Lechon and Cebu Food Crawlers were lucky to taste it in their Lapu-Lapu City branch which is very near to Mactan-Cebu International Airport. Now, you don't have a reason not to bring home Rico's Lechon as pasalubong when you visit back Cebu.

Taste Of The Sea At Gusto

Translated as taste of the sea, Gusto Mare offers a different and relaxing ambience while enjoying your dining experience in the beachfront. When you visit Cebu, Gusto Mare should be your choice if you want to chill and dine - enjoying your meals while looking at the sea. Situated in I1 Corso, City Di Mare at South Road Properties, Gusto Mare offers Italian style dishes and some fave seafoods. In addition, we could enjoy a nice company of friends while raising our glass of wine or cold beer or maybe just chilling with a great cup of freshly brewed italian coffee. It was indeed a chill afternoon with Cebu Food Crawlers!

Another fave appetizer at Gusto Mare is Spinaci Zola Dip

Gusto Mare offers Italian Dishes and one of its signature Appetizer is the Salmone Pizza.

    Tasting Salinas

For me, nothing beats Filipino Dishes! That's why there are many reasons why we love Philippines - the people , the culture and most especially the food! In Salinas Restaurant, they offer and specialize Filipino cuisine. Known for their Crispy Pata, Salinas is not very pricey in which you can spend 300-500 pesos for a dinner of two. Salinas has Filipino Dishes the Cebu way, just like Crispig's Ears, Buwad and Aligue on Red Rice , Pinaugang Balbacua, Bloodless Dinuguan , Pinaupong Manok, Green Mango and Papaya Salad , among others.
