I never thought I spent Summer days and nights in another city. When I travel to other countries, I always want to experience other seasons such as Winter, Autumn, and Spring. But spending Summer in Hongkong was an exemption. Thanks to Flight 5J240 for taking us to HK safely and to the accommodating Hongkong Tourism Board for ironing out our itinerary very well. Here's my Summer Days in Hongkong Story!

    Summer Days In HongKong

My favorite Seasons ever are Autumn and winter. Maybe it's because I'm a sweaty kind of person - a person who is into sports and physical activities that's why coldness is my personal best friend. So, when I heard that we are visiting Hongkong in the Summer season, I was hesitant at first. I mean I've been to Thailand during Songkran Week and it was very humid and the heat is so different here in Cebu. But when the itinerary was presented plus a list of Cebu Content Creators who I dearly like very much - so it was a GO!

Our day started with pleasant vibes at Mactan-Cebu International Aiport with my friends from the Media, Cebu Bloggers, and Content Creators who met after checked-in at the Cebu Pacific Air service counter before heading to Cebu's Immigration. And promise, the Immigration officers here in Cebu did not ask for the Graduation yearbook! Okay, it's not funny!

The flight from Cebu to Hongkong took an estimated 2 Hours and a Half. It was a short-haul flight but I had fun while resting and of course, enjoying the in-flight meals served to us by the smiling Crew! We arrived at Hongkong International Airport safely and I was so glad our Tour Guide, Mr. Martin, and a representative of HKB, Ms. Joy Mirasol, were there already welcoming us with a big greeting!!

⚠️ RECOMMENDATION: If you are traveling to HK for Vacation, make sure to check the Hong Kong Tourism Board booth and get a lot of freebies from their "Hello HongKong Goodies" in which you can choose from welcome Drinks from Hotels and Destinations, Get HK$100 cash voucher or Redeem an exclusive offer!

We did not wait for another hour and we directly went off to our tourist destination that day which was going to Ngong Ping Village while thrill-riding a 360 Crystal Glass Cable Car! It was an adrenaline-pumping first day, maybe because I got excited and I missed HK, too! During our short stay, we visited a lot of Tourist Destinations and Activities but for me, the highlights were the Ngong Ping Village Visit, Art appreciation at the M+ Museum, Shopping in K11 Musea and Harbour City Malls, enjoying the HK skyline at the top floor of Sky100 Observatory and finally, a day in Hongkong Disneyland! I could not talk about our experiences one by one but let me give you a list of spots and activities where you can enjoy during the Summer Season in Hongkong.

⚠️ PERSONAL TIP: Before you go to your planned spots, make sure to bring extra clothes, a face towel, a drinking water container, and a portable electric hand fan. In this way, you will surely enjoy your summer getaway in Hongkong! And an important note, as much as possible if a destination or attraction can be purchased in Klook, make sure to do it before flying to HK. It would be less hassle and a much more convenient way of enjoying Hong Kong.

Now, here's a summary of our itinerary or a list of HongKong Tourist Spots/Activities

So, my office friends and I decided to escape from crowded Sinulog Festival last week. But of course, my family and I decided to attend mass days before the trip. Every year, we always try to do an out of country trip but since we did not book a good ticket last December, we had it last January - travel to the most expensive destination ever - Hong Kong! In this long-post article, I'll be sharing to you our itinerary, guide, budget and what to prepare before traveling to Hong Kong.

This article is powered by PLDT Home Fibr. Check out their site for more amazing and reliable packages suitable for Home and Blog use.

    PREPARATIONS

To be used in the Airport and Immigration
    1. Philippines Passport with 6 months validity left before expiration
    2. Printed (or not, saved in a smartphone) Round trip Airplane ticket
    3. Printed (saved) Hotel Accommodation bookings
    4. Printed (saved) Vouchers of your activities such as Peak Tram voucher in Klook or Disneyland voucher in Klook.
    5. Printed (saved) Leave Approval - This is actually optional but my friends always make sure to print out our Leave Approval since we are working in the same company and the immigration officers might ask about it.
    6. As much as possible, book your tickets or activities using Klook, especially the Disneyland, Ngong Ping, Peak Tram, Macau Ferry and many more. See below for the details on what we booked in Klook for this 4-day Trip.

    Personal Preparation
    1. Travel Adapter - Hong Kong has a different type of power socket, so better secure a travel adapter like the global one. You can get one from Handy Man for just PHP 230.00. Choose the Omni brand coz it will last long.
    2. Power Bank - Always bring Power bank because, during your trip to Hong Kong, you will be using your smartphone everytime you search for your itinerary or destinations. Better be prepared.
    3. FlytPack Travel Kit - Of course, your traveling internationally and getting an unlimited mobile data and stay connected while in the other country is a must! Try to contact FlytPack for an affordable yet reliable internet source while in Hong Kong. TIP: Use code: FPMarkMonta to get a PHP discount from your total bill.

    BUDGET

Hong Kong is one of the expensive countries in the world. So, for a 4-day trip to Hong Kong and Macau, you might want to prepare a total of PHP 30, 000.00. Here's why?

*** One Philippine Peso is equal to 0.15 HKD
*** You can go to the 2nd floor of Chungkin Mansion to get a Peso to HKD exchange. Take note, 2nd floor and not the ground floor. You can lool for Pacific Exchange or Galaxy Exchange for a better exchange of peso to HK dollar.

    ITINERARY and GUIDE

Since it's a 4-day trip, we make sure to make it "Sulit!" It's like, we are overloaded with activities and destinations in these four days. Now, let me guide you with our itinerary in the simplest way.

DAY 1: Victoria Peak with Peak Tram

    Night Shot at Victoria Peak
A week before your flight, make sure to book a ticket in Klook entitled "Peak Tram + Sky Pass with Sky Terrace 428 Admission - One Way". Another advantage if you book in Klook is that you don't need to fall in a long line just to ride a Peak Tram going to Victoria Peak. Trust me, it is convenient when you book ahead. Also, it's cheap than the one purchase in the ticket center there.

How to go to Victoria Peak via Peak Tram?

    1. From Tsim Sha Tsui, ride MTR going to Central Station
    2. From Central Station, follow the sign to Exit J2
    3. Once you're outside Central station, grab your smartphone and follow the directions going to Peak Tram building. This is just  8-10 minutes walk.

You won't miss taking a pose with such amazing city background!

What to expect in Victoria Peak?

A beautiful and vast panorama of the Hong Kong skyline! Make sure to go there afternoon till evening to get the best Sunset view of the City. And, riding a Peak Tram going to the peak is one for the books! It's like a mini-ride in Disneyland. In addition, you can also buy some "pasalubong" inside their mall.

DAY 2: Whole Day Tour in Disneyland Hong Kong - Check out below video compilation for our Top 10 Best Rides and Attractions in Disneyland Hong Kong! Don't forget to click Subscribe!

DAY 3: Whole Day Tour in Macau, China - a separate article will be written soon.

DAY 4: Ngong Ping and City Tour

Group Shot of Laagans in Ngong Ping Village!
    FIRST PART
How to go to Ngong Ping? Note: We need to use Octopus Card for this journey.
    1. Ride the MTR station from Tsim Sha Tsui (Tseun Wan Line or the Red Line) and get off at Lai King Interchange.
    2. Ride the Tung Chung Line Yellow (Orange Line ) and get off in Tung Chung Station.
    3. Exit at Exit B.
    4. Once you see the City Gate Outlet Mall, go directly to the left side (facing the City Gate) and you can see the entrance going to the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car ride in Klook.
Important Note: Don't forget to book Ngong Ping Ticket via Klook for easier and fast access.

What to expect in Ngong Ping?

    1. Cable Car experience - When we book the ticket via Klook, we were attracted to the Crystal cabin so we chose the Crystal Cable Car. It did not fail us! Amazing view below our cable car and we saw a 360 view of Lantau Island and some islets in Hong Kong. It was really worth all our HKD pennies!

    2. Po Lin Monastery

    3. Ngong Ping Village - A lot of stores and restaurants are available inside the village. All corners are instagrammable!

    Blogger Pose they say!

    4. The Big Buddha - You need to take 268 steps going to Tian Tan, the Big Buddha in Ngong Ping. The view is amazing and you can walk around to witness the bird's eye view of a green Hong Kong - not the huge buildings but the green scenery of the City. Just lovely!

    SECOND PART
In the afternoon, we then decided to visit some of the Tourist destinations in Tsim Sha Tsui. This part is the easiest way to navigate. Just make sure you got the Flypack internet and google map, then you will be okay!

    1. Salisbury Garden

    2. Hong Kong Space Museum

    3. Hong Kong Cultural Center

    4. Victoria Harbour

    5. Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower
