Last weekend was one of my "chill" travels to the capital of the Philippines, Manila. Thanks to Marriott Bonvoy for accommodating me at Sheraton Manila Hotel. It was a short but sweet Birthday Staycation with lots of food, love, rest and time for myself.

LOC: Located in Pasay City, Philippines. (Newport World Resorts, a walk from Ninoy Aquino International Airport - NAIA)

    SHERATON MANILA HOTEL DELUXE KING

I was so happy when the smiling lady in the lobby mentioned that I will be staying in a one-bedroom Deluxe king! Despite the stress she encountered while accommodating an Indian individual (who actually was very rude - shouting at her), she still managed to check me in with a big SMILE. That's what HOSPITALITY SHOULD LOOK LIKE!!!

Anyways, let's talk more about my Deluxe King bedroom. As a solo traveler, I would really appreciate a big size bed because I cannot sleep when it's very small or standard. It's not that I live as a rich kid coz I'm born poor but I can really rest well when the bed has a firm mattress and that's what I experienced in Sheraton Manila. Not to mention the four comfortable pillows that will surely complete your night's rest.

The room is indeed designed for the King. You can definitely see the earth-toned interior with Gold and Silver colors. There's a table for work if you come as a workcation and a table and a lazy comfy chair when you just want to be laid-back while enjoying the scenic pool view of the Hotel.

Let's talk about the bathroom. It has Marble Bathroom with Bathtub, a walk-in shower, and a toilet on the side.

What else is available inside a Deluxe King Room? It has a 55-inch full HD Smart television with local and international cable channels, Bedside Table with JBL Horizon Bluetooth Clock Radio, Closet Cabinet & Minibar, Complimentary Bottled Water, Ice Cube Container, Complimentary Coffee and Tea - and by the way, I want to highlight this that Sheraton Manila Hotel provides Drip coffee and not instant coffee - how healthy is that!!!!

    BREAKFAST at Marriott Cafe

My flight via Cebu Pacific Air from Cebu arrived 20 minutes early and I was excited to early check-in to the Hotel. But since I missed Sheraton's Breakfast Buffet, I intentionally experienced a sumptuous Ala Carte Meal in Marriott Cafe. I got a Chicken Breast salad, fresh Coconut juice, and to-go Iced Coffee which by the way features a 100% biodegradable and 0% waste eco-friendly container and straw. And yes, they got complimentary bread and butter while waiting for your order.

Marriott Bonvoy Hotels are indeed world-class!

    Sheraton Manila Hotel

We flew to Manila to personally witness the PASKOnstelasyon of Marriott Bonvoy Hotels. First Night was all about the Christmas beauty of the Sheraton Manila Hotel.

THE YULETIDE SEASON IS IN THE AIR as Sheraton Manila Hotel lights up CHRISTMAS TREE! 🎄🌲🎄

THEY PUSHED THE BUTTON! Present at the Christmas Tree Lighting were no other than Sheraton Manila Hotel General Manager Anna Liza Vergara, Pasay City Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano and the one and only, Mr. Kingson Sian, President and CEO, Newport World Resorts who led the lighting activity.

Philippine musical artists Michael Williams, Gab Pangilinan, Myke Salomon, and Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, together with Saxophone player Josh Espinosa serenaded some Christmas Music while attendees enjoyed a festive dinner at The Kitchen of Sheraton Manila Hotel.

'PASKONSTELASYON' SHINES BRIGHT AT MANILA MARRIOT

After 5 consecutive nights of lighting giant Christmas trees and the Marriot Bonvoy lanterns in Marriot properties across the Philippines, the ceremony finally arrived fittingly at its homecourt, the Manila Marriot Hotel, with a festive celebration held last November 12, Saturday, at the hotel's grand lobby.
"Each of these stars represents specific attributes of our Marriot brand hotels," said Multi-property Vice President - The Philippines, Marriott International, Bruce Winton during the program.

The said Marriott properties unite in a collective celebration of " Paskonstelasyon", referring to the constellation of The Marriott Bonvoy stars, namely, The North Star (Clark Marriott Hotel), The Vacation Star (Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo), The Destination Star (Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort), The Carnival Star (Sheraton Manila Bay),The Soiree Star (Sheraton Manila Hotel), and The Brilliant Star (Manila Marriott Hotel), each with its own unique festivities and offerings for the holidays.

"So, this (celebration) is the ultimate one, here at the Manila Marriot Hotel," added Winton.
Ultimate, indeed, as apart from classic Christmas numbers, the program also featured the live performance of the official Marriott Holiday jingle “Moments With You” by singer-songwriter Acel Bisa van Ommen, former front-woman of famous pop band Moonstar88. Acel also composed the heartwarming tune.

Executive Chef Meik Brammer also reprised his "annual role" as Santa Claus to the delight of the kids and the kids-at-heart in the audience.

(PRESS RELEASE) “PASKONSTELASYON” shines brighter at Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo, Sheraton Manila Hotel, and Marriott Hotel Manila

After two years of hiatus, Marriott Philippines kicked off the holidays with a market-wide tree and lantern lighting activity dubbed as “PASKONSTELASYON”: The Marriott Bonvoy Constellation of Holiday Celebrations.

Considered as a week-long celebration of different Marriott properties in the Philippines, each property was able to light up their trees and lanterns in their own way featuring the distinct identities of each property but was connected by one “PASKONSTELASYON”.

The unique term is a portmanteau of two meaningful words: “Pasko” or Christmas, and “Konstelasyon” or Constellation which means a group of stars forming a recognizable pattern. This also symbolizes the growing presence of Marriott properties in the country and how it is interconnected with the same heart for the festive season, strengthened by its unifying travel program, Marriott Bonvoy.

Equally important that week was the kick-off of Marriott International’s GLOBAL CUSTOMER APPRECIATION WEEK, where all Marriott properties express gratitude and special thanks to all their partners for the trust and collaboration especially during the height of the pandemic.

Christmas at Marriott Manila will never be the same without its iconic Santa Claus! Dressed up in his new gold coat, the Golden Santa himself greeted everyone with his loudest “Ho! Ho! Ho!”. He also didn’t forget to spend time with the kids and give them memorable presents. Kids-at-heart also didn’t miss the chance to snap a photo with Santa and his Gingerbread House located at the main lobby where guests can avail the holiday retail items perfect for gift giving.

This season is also the best time to share blessings. “PASKONSTELASYON”: Charity Ornaments can be purchased from the Marriott Bakery for only P150 per piece. Proceeds from the ornaments that were sold will go to Save the Children Philippines.
