Let's beat the heat at Starbucks. Let's pack our summer essentials and head to any Starbucks branches for a Summer Getaway! No, I ain't talking about island hopping or beaching but taking a quick break with Starbucks Summer Indulgence. Starting this April 9, Starbucks is inviting customers to try their latest Beverages and featured Food - not to mention their summery Merchs and their cute Starbucks cards!

    SUMMER FRAP!

Starting this April 9, Starbucks is inviting customers to come in to get away with a new set of beverages that taste like a short, sweet, sip of summer. Its new core drinks—the Triple Mocha Frappuccino®, the Dark Caramel Coffee Frappuccino®, and the Red Velvet Cake Cream Frappuccino®—are perfect for dessert lovers.

    Triple Mocha Frappuccino®

The Triple Mocha Frappuccino® is loaded with Dark Mocha Sauce layered between cold-brew infused whipped cream, white chocolate, and dark caramel. Take away the Dark Mocha Sauce and add some rich and buttery Dark Caramel Sauce and the drink transforms into the delicious Dark Caramel Coffee Frappuccino®. Another drink added to the regular menu is the Red Velvet Cake Cream Frappuccino®, a confectionery-inspired blend of chocolate chips, mocha sauce, raspberry and vanilla syrup, topped with whipped cream.

For those who want to feel the tropical vibes, Starbucks also offers a limited-time beverage just for the season of the sun – the Mixed Berry Frappuccino® with Pomegranate Pearls. The smooth and fruity beverage is made with mixed berry sauce blended with velvety milk, topped with cream to balance its tart berry flavor.

    TROPICAL TREAT COFFEE BEAN

Apart from their handcrafted Frappuccinos®, Starbucks also offers a tropical treat in the form of fresh coffee beans with the new Starbucks® Kopelani Blend – a blend that brings the flavors of Hawaii into each cup. At the heart of this summer, creation is the Hawaiian Ka’u coffee, combined with East African and Latin American beans which enhances the nutty notes and caramelly sweetness, for which Ka’u coffee is known for.

    STARBUCKS CARDS AND MERCH

Carry with you the perfect complement for the balmy weather - the Botanical card, a Starbucks Card which features island scenes and tropical plants, available for an initial activation amount of Php300. Another fun and cute design is the new Popsicle card, also available for initial activation of Php300.

There will also be new Starbucks merchandise to help you feel summer-ready wherever you go. The ‘A Day in The Island’ collection transports customers straight to the beach with its gradient designs depicting island scenes from sunrise to sunset and tropical plants. With the sun brightly shining this time of year, the ‘Gold’ collection also perfectly captures the glow and shimmer of the season with its golden tumblers in new and classic shapes.

    THE SIREN'S ISLAND

The Starbucks Siren called customers to revel in a fun and feel-good break at the Siren’s Island – an island-carnival event where they could throw their cares to the wind and have a good time, all while enjoying the latest Starbucks’ summer offerings.

    The Siren's Island
    The Siren's Island
At the event, there was a grand Starbucks Ship welcoming deck - a wooden dock that marked the entryway to the sweetest destination. Fusing the elements of an island getaway and a summer pier carnival, the Siren’s Island brought the best of summer experiences in one spot.

Different stations were inspired by the new Starbucks beverages just like the tall, Dark Caramel Mountain with its rich caramel lava. Fortunes were uncovered at the Triple Mocha Room which was designed in true carnival fashion. There were also plenty of games to play at the booths just like berry-picking at the Mixed Berries Forest and the classic ring toss game at the Red Velvet Magic Shack.

(L-R) JoAnn Ramos, marketing manager, Jamie Silva, category manager, Keith Cole, head of marketing, category and QA of Starbucks Philippines with the Starbucks Bearista Bear and Host Justin Quirino

No carnival would be complete without a merry-go-round and the Siren’s Island also had it with a twist, a Selfie-Go-Round, carousel-themed 360◦ photo booth where everyone got to goof off and share clownish moments with their friends. Dressed up as a carnival knick-knack store, there was also the Siren’s Souvenir Shop where guests got to grab Starbucks merchandise. The funfair was complete with a food cart that served up Starbucks drinks and snacks.

The Siren’s Island is just the first of much more fun and carefree summer moments that customers can share with Starbucks. Starbucks’ doors are always open, calling everyone to come in to get away and sip a quick summer escape!

When in Cebu, Tourists should try the island's pride especially when it comes to food, delicacy and other products. This one brand that I'm so proud of has always been part of my go-to-places. They have the best Sizzling Dish in town, not to mentioned the best Chocolate Cake ever! I'm talking about Cebu's very own Orange Brutus, my fave comfort fast food restaurant. This Summer, Orange Brutus launched a number of dishes and meals specially made to help us beat the heat of the sun.

Before I mention the Summer treat, you should check out the new branch of Orange Brutus situated at JCentre Mall, Mandaue City. They are located at the Foodcourt, 3rd Floor of the Mall. Aside from the Venetian Design of the food court, this new branch is a great venue for dating or just eating alone.

If you've done with your hot sizzling delight, then I advised you should pair it with Orange Brutus Summer Shakes, Chocolate Monster Shake and Cookies and Cream Shake. I personally love the Chocolate Monster shake as I love their Best of Cebu Chocolate Monster Cake so much. You can definitely savor the Chocolate cake in a shake. Either way, this would help you beat the heat this summer season.

Situated in the northern tip of Cebu, Carnaza Island is another "Visayan Gem" less traveled. This turtle-shaped island deserves our attention especially this Summer. If you read blog articles about it and recommending you to stay at Eco-Park, then you should read this article further as Carnaza Island is not just about the said park. During the long weekend, I was able to visit and experience the amazing Carnaza island together with Cebu Bloggers Society Friends. I gained friends from the Local and explored the "Buhis buhay" tourist spots in the island.

Special note, some photos were taken by Huawei P9 and Oppo F3 but not edited so that viewers cannot set a high expectation during their stay. But trust me when I said that these spots are amazingly instagrammable. Enjoy Carnaza guys!

    TIPS, RECOMMENDATIONS & CONTACT NUMBER

CONTACT : For your needs such as where to stay, food, drinks, hot water, boat for island hopping and others, please contact our new found friend, Councilor Rego "Gigi" Camino at 0918-547-5143.

    TIPS:

    1. On your first day, take the first trip from North Bus Terminal To Maya (6:00 AM is the best and ideal time to travel)
    2. If you travel alone, wait for more passengers at Tapilon Port for a cheaper fare. Also, while waiting, you can grab a lunch at any Carenderia in the area.
    3. Ask for a big plastic bag from the Boat operator so that you can secure your personal belongings or bags inside it.
    4. While taking the boat to Carnaza island, better choose the rare part (near the driver/operator) so that you will not/less wet your things or yourself.
    5. Upon Arrival, look for Councilor Gigi and asked to arrange a place at Ka-Ilina Beach. Note, it will just cost you PHP 100 per person for three days and two nights stay at beach front.
    6. For Breakfast and Lunch, you can go to Psalms Restaurant (across a non-Catholic Church and near Ka-Ilina Beach). Their menu is cheap and they can cook fast.
    7. For Dinner, contact Councilor Gigi and asked to arrange a dinner with his sister-in-law who has a mini-carenderia.
    8. There is a solar electricity in the island so it is best for travelers to bring Power Bank and Flash lights during the stay. But in the morning, you can go to Psalms Restaurant to charge your electronics gadgets while eating. In addition, the owner who is a pastor is very friendly that you can take a shower in just PHP 25.00 and use their bathroom for free.
    9. During your Motor Island Tour, do not include ka-Ilina in your itinerary and choose only Skull Cove and Liog-Liog Beach for just PHP 250. But if you have a partner, you will just pay PHP 125 each in one trip of motor ride.
    10. During Motor Island tour, spend more time at Liog-Liog Beach as it has all the instagrammable spots that Carnaza Island can offer.
    11. During your visit at Skull Cove, you can take a dip with friends there after visiting the famous Cave with skulls and other scary stuff.
    12. During Island Hopping, look for Councilor Gigi or look for locals boaters who can give at least PHP 1,700 fare for La Manok and Dakit-Dakit Islets.
    13. During your quick visit at La Manok, don't forget to take a swim and take a lot of shots. The islet is beautiful.
    14. During your quick visit at Dakit-Dakit Islet, make sure to watch your steps because there is a number of "Walo-Walo" or Sea snakes which are dangerous. But the place is not scary. In fact, it is good for Pre-nup photoshoots.
    15. For Sunset shots, you can stay at Ka-Ilina and grab your cameras.
    16. Do not travel alone, better with partner or the more the merrier. And this means, cheaper expenses.
    17. Lastly, do not book a tent at Eco-Park, not worth it. Most people who stayed at Eco-Park have expressed their "WOWs" at Ka-Ilina Beach. So, you know what to do.
    18. For Data Connection, Smart and Sun are intermittent but during midnight and early morning, 4G is available at Ka-Ilina Beach.
    19. Enjoy Carnaza Island!

    It's a beautiful world. . . 📸@mmonta
