Just like the famous destination, Temple of Leah, it trended immediately. But why it became a hit? Why not? Looking at those instagram-worthy scenes and fresh air around, that should be something! But seriously, People are just being supportive to our dear Flower Farmers as they give us a chance of experiencing this mini-Amsterdam Garden here in Cebu. In just PHP 20 that serves as your Entrance, you can get an unlimited photos with those beautiful Celosia Flowers. In addition, you can also ask them for a Flower Arrangement or buy their Flowers.

In addition, it was reported that the Garden's Owner won't be harvesting these Flowers not until the day before All Saints' Day. Hurry up as we still have a day or two!! So, how to reach to Sirao Flower Farm?
1. From the City, just a take a jeep or taxi going to JY Square Mall, Lahug Cebu City
2. From JY Square Mall, hire a motorcycle (Habal-Habal) going to Busay. Note, fare is PHP 200 back and forth)

Last Friday, A Youtube User Astig Tao uploaded a video showing how this "Coin-Dropping" or "Laglag Barya" or "Hulog-Hulog Piso" Modus Operandi works. You can see that the person (near to the Driver's seat) is dropping coins while at the same time moving his seat near to the victim (the lady with a handbag). While doing such, you would notice another person with a black backpack that covers his lap doing something suspicious. When the drama was done, you can then see that the person with a backpack finally took something inside the lady's handbag. Bottomline, every commuters should always and again "always" take care and should always look after their belongings when inside a public transportation.

But on June 28, 2014 ( Saturday ), a different kind of Fashion Show will be held at SM City Cebu specifically at their Northwing Atrium. Dubbed as a Fashion Show For A Cause, Upsurge is organized by Club Mega and will be graced by our very own Cebuana and recently titled Miss Philippines Earth 2014, Miss Jamie Herrell. Last year, Ms. Herrell from Cebu City was named as Mega Cebu Ambassadress together with John Kevin Hernandez from Liloan as Mega Cebu Ambassador and both of them will lead Upsurge Fashion Show.

Featuring the Collections by the Young Designer's Collective & Fashion Inc., Upsurge aims to provide Educational support to chosen 13 LGUs from the municipalities of Danao to Carcar. They target to provide educational supplies such us Papers, Pen and other schooling needs. "Educational supplies will be given to Public schools while we will select 13 lucky scholars for each LGUs." Mega Cebu Ambasssador, John Kevin Hernandez added. There will be a silent auction to each of the Models' dress and the Fashion show starts at 5 PM.

Last August, Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago has filed Senate Bill 1206 or commonly known as Taxi Passenger Bill of Rights. What are the contents of this Bill? This bill seeks to acknowledge the rights of taxi passengers and penalizes both driver and the operator of the taxi cab who violates these rights, check this LINK for details. “There are too many disturbing reports of taxi drivers and operators who take advantage of their passengers, from mere discomfort or discourtesy to robbery and physical harm. It’s high time this transport sector shapes up,” said Sen. Miriam in Philstar article.

This Taxi Passenger Bill of Rights encourages every Taxi Drivers to be courteous and help to their passengers. But what if a taxi driver is caught of masturbating while passengers are in the backseat? Is it considered to be courteous? We believe, this is some kind of a women's harassment, right? This horrific act was experienced by Ms. Jessica Atas yesterday night. Fortunately, she was able to take a video of the said taxi driver who was masturbating - this is a good evidence! Even though, police advised her not to upload the said video, she is afraid that her family or friends might experienced the same.




Video Caption, "I WANT HIM BEHIND BARS. The driver was masturbating in front of me. There was an alcohol-like scent inside the cab I felt really dizzy and I was already expecting to pass out anytime soon that's why I immediately jumped out of the cab while it was running. The Chief of police told me not to upload the video until this person gets caught but my conscience can't take it if there's going to be another victim and I didn't do anything to warn as many people as possile. I'm doing this not only for me, but for everyone who is at risk of experiencing what happened to me earlier. THIS IS NOT A JOKE. THIS IS NOT FOR FAME. THIS IS A WARNING TO EVERYONE. God Bless and let us be more cautious and observant! I am the first victim here in Cebu. I hope I will be the last one too."

To show sympathy, a Cebu Fashion Blogger, Eden Villarba, shared the said video in her wall with captions, "As someone who has personally experienced various forms of verbal abuse and near-sexual threats from cab drivers (I've always shared my cab-driver-cussing-at-me chronicles here), I find this the most appalling of all. I feel horrible for Ms. Atas and I commend her bravery for being able to take actual video proof. Seriously though-- there should be stricter laws regarding who and what's deemed "fit" to drive taxis and PUVS. Is the government or taxi companies doing anything about this?! Gah this is so distressing"

Hoping not for a mass movement but unity of Envinronmentalists and other simple individual, The Island Group (TIG) and Save the Philippine Seas (SPS) partnered for an environmental campaign dubbed as "The Philippines is worth diving for." This tie-up campaign is centered on the conservation, protection, and restoration of our marine biodiversity."The Philippines is worth diving for" is a new collection of Island Souvenirs on which percentage of the proceeds of this campaign will go to SPS to fund the Malapascua Arts and Science Festival, a community project organized by SPS and that uses creative forms of learning with the end view of promoting environmental protection and appreciation of nature outside the four walls of a standard classroom.
