WHAT TO PREPARE AND EXPECT BEFORE TRAVELING?

As we consider the scare and health-risk of COVID-19, we need to be ready in all terms before traveling. Here are some points to remember before preparing your travel bags.

    1. ARRIVE EARLY. Due to additional screening in line with the COVID-19, we advise departing passengers to adjust their arrival time at the airport terminal for check-in:
at least 4 hours before scheduled time of departure
at least 3 hours for all Domestic flights and all other International flights
    2. Prepare the latest Travel Requirements for Domestic Flights. Check the complete and updated list on the Philippine Airlines website.
    3. Check and prepare the latest travel requirements per country of destinations.
    4. Consider the conditions posted by Inter-Agency Task Force under Resolution No. 52.

DID YOU KNOW? There are a large number of tunnels and holes in and around Osaka Castle. For example, in the space around the Sakura-mon (Cherry Gate), there is a grouping of stones forming a tunnel that connects the two walls. #Kyoto #Osaka #Japan ONE DAY ONLY: Arashiyama Bamboo Grove + Fushimi Inari Shrine + Osaka Castle + Dōtonbori District BLOG ARTICLE IS UP!!! https://bit.ly/3cduHef

Oh, I miss Japan so much!!!

As posted in the Inter-Agency Task Force Resolution No. 52, The non-essential outbound travel of Filipinos shall be subject to the following conditions:

    1. Submission of confirmed round-trip tickets for those traveling on tourist visas
    2. Adequate travel and health insurance to cover rebooking and accommodation expenses if stranded and hospitalization in case of infection, in such amount, as may be determined by the Department of Tourism
    3. Allowed entry by the destination country in accordance with their travel, health, and quarantine restrictions.
    4. Execution of a Declaration acknowledging the risks involved in traveling, including the risk of delay in their return trip, to be provided for in the check-in counters by the airlines
    5. Upon return, shall follow the Guidelines of Returning Overseas Filipinos of National Task Force (NTF)

    KEEPING YOU SAFE ALWAYS

To ensure the safety and protection of all passengers, PAL is strictly implementing an all-out ‘Fly Safe’ set of new normal safety measures and practices – dubbed “New Normal, Same Heart” – that adopts international health and safety protocols while keeping the signature heartfelt service that the airline is known for.

    1. Passengers are encouraged to check-in online
    2. Passengers are requested to arrive early at the airport to allocate extra time for new safety procedures.
    3. Passengers are required to wear face masks or facial coverings at all times – at the airport and throughout the flight.
    4. Passengers are required to observe physical distance whenever queueing in line or while seated at waiting areas at the airport.
    5. Check this complete list of reminders from Philippine Airline's "Keeping You Safe Always" post.

The Philippine flag carrier is one of the first in the world to require cabin crew to wear full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while onboard the flight; PAL’s cabin crew also undergo medical evaluation prior to their duty.  PAL has modified its inflight meal and snack service, using sealed packaging instead of traditional meal arrangements. On top of these, PAL also offers Onboard Distancing Seat Options in Business Class, Premium Economy, and a designated zone of the Economy Class cabin for passengers who wish to be extra safe when they fly.

All PAL aircraft are equipped with advanced cabin air systems that continuously infuse fresh air across the cabin (cabin air is replaced every 2 to 3 minutes), as well as High-Efficiency Particulate Air filters (or HEPA filters) that remove viruses, bacteria and other contaminants with 99.99% efficiency. The onboard air creates a controlled and cleaner environment comparable to hospital operating rooms that is safer than most enclosed public spaces.

The flag carrier has partially resumed regular commercial flights to various domestic destinations and key international cities in the US, Asia, Europe, Australia, the Middle East, and Canada.  PAL has also been operating special missions to repatriate stranded Filipinos and foreign nationals to and from different parts of the world, as well as all-cargo services to transport essential supplies across the Philippines and overseas.

What would you do after we overcome this pandemic crisis? Me? I would live my life to the fullest and of course, I'll do it with a sense of responsibility and ownership. I would continue to travel the world and do what I love the most, eat but be fit. I am a Blogger, so I would continue to write even if it's all crap but for as long as I can express what  I feel, I will do it! I will continue taking good pictures and videos coz I believe memories are the best treasures that one can have and which can never be replaced by anything.  And speaking of imagery, do you know where and how did I buy my first Oppo F7 smartphone and my first mirrorless camera, Fujifilm XT100? I would love to share with you some quick tips.

    1. While we are currently on a quarantine, make it an opportunity to browse online and make sure you have reviewed and decided what gadget to buy before heading to any stores when everything comes back to normal.

    2. You should consider getting a gadget that has the best quality and you think will suffice your needs as a Blogger or Traveller or just a simple person who loves taking pictures and videos.

    3. You can visit your favorite Gadgets stores to buy your camera or smartphone. There are a lot of good shops out there such as Naimen Yes Com Gadget, Power Premium Gadgets, Urban Gadgets, Power Mac Center, Gadgethub, Gadgets Plus, Games and Gadgets, Phone Center, to name a few.

    4. But the best part is, you can buy your gadget cashless by just using GCASH Scan-to-Pay QR Code in the cashiers. Why? Because using your e-wallet in paying or purchasing materials will help you budget your money wisely and of course, it will lessen the instances of losing tangible money which apparently happens to all of us. Aside from that, you will help with a  fast and easy transaction during payment.

HOW DO I PAY USING GCASH SCAN-TO-PAY QR?

    1. Click on Pay QR on the main page.
    2. Tap on the “Scan QR Code” Icon.
    3. Align the camera at the cashier’s QR code.
    4. Once the app detects and identifies the merchant, input the total amount of your purchase (amount to pay).
    5. Confirm transaction details. Both you and the identified payment counter in the library will receive an SMS from 2882, which will serve as your receipt.

The bottom line is, make sure you spend an amount of money on a gadget that you think will last for a number of years and of course, will help you capture the moments in your life. I know better days are coming but as of now, stay home and be safe. Good luck on your Gadget hunt!

This quarantine makes us a pig! And I mean not the "body kind of pig" but that habit a pig does - eating and sleeping routine! But sometimes, it's not a bad thing since sometimes we tend to crave something most especially if we are too busy working from home or just to destress! The big problem is, most of our desires - food desires come from those Restaurants or Cafes which are NOT just a stone-away from us. But of course, thank God for the online ordering system - everything is covered!

While Luzon and some cities in our country are under the Enhanced Home Quarantine due to nCov-19, there are Restaurants which are not open but offer door to door delivery to serve us and to satisfy our cravings. But as I mentioned in my previous article, it is BEST to do cashless transactions in shopping or most especially on online ordering because this small step will surely help flatten the curve. If you have e-wallet such as GCash, then you can simply use your GCash in your online order. A number of Restaurants are now accepting direct pay from GCash such as Shakeys, Max's Chicken, Pancake House, Krispy Kreme, Yellow Cab, Bench Cafe, to name a few. But if you are using a food delivery app, I recommend using FoodPanda as this mobile app accepts American Express Virtual Pay (GCash) as a credit card payment option upon checkout. Easy, right? And of course, when this is over – we can still use this cashless transaction with the GCash Scan-to-pay feature.

Okay, let me give you a list of Restaurants and Cafes that will rescue us from our cravings. Most of them are available in Foodpanda which you can use your GCash for payment. Check this out!

Enhanced Community Quarantine is extended to almost major cities in the Philippines. Of course, our family and friends who are living far away from us sometimes need our financial support, especially that most of them are not working due to this nCov-19. Just in time, Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) made an easy way to send cash from your BPI account to any Palawan Express branches nationwide in a feature called BPI to Cash. This is very helpful since you only need to login to your device at home and no need to queue in a long waiting line in Palawan Express shop.

How are you doing my netifriends? How are you, your family and friends? I hope everyone is fine and well! As the Enhanced Community Quarantine (in some areas in our country) has been extended, sending and receiving funds whether for our loved ones, for those in need, or for payment to small business owners, is now more critical than ever. If you're planning to transfer funds soon, here are three ways you can do it via PayMaya:

In support to our government's initiative in slowing down the spread of COVID-19, PayMaya has three ways on how to do digital banking and transactions using our PayMaya app.

    1. Send to another PayMaya account via the "Send Money" function on your PayMaya app

    1. Tap More (bottom right on iOS) or Menu (top left on Android), then tap Send Money.
    2. Enter your recipient’s Mobile Number or Account Number. You can also tap the “plus” icon to search and select from your phone contacts!
    3. Enter the amount you want to send. As long as this amount is less than your total PayMaya account balance, it’s fine!
    4. Select PayMaya.
    5. Add an optional message to your money gift and tap Continue.
    6. Check your transaction details one last time and tap Send.
    7. Wait for an in-app confirmation and SMS from PayMaya to make sure the money’s sent!

    2. Send to any bank under Instapay via the "Bank Transfer" function on your PayMaya app

    3. Send to Smart Padala agents/Palawan Express via the "Send Money" function on your PayMaya app (don't forget to make sure that your Smart Padala agent is open!)
