As a person, I've been a vocal VP-Leni Robredo supporter for Presidentiable bid and of course, to her VP Candidate Kiko Pangilinan, even on my social media. But did you know I also support Sara Duterte for the Vice-President position? There's no doubt that Kiko Pangilinan could do and support the future President of the Philippines but would it be amazing if the opposition can seat in the 2nd highest position in the country just to balance everything? And the fact that current President Rodrigo Duterte doesn't endorse Marcos means something, right?

So, why should we vote for Robredo-Sara for the 2022 Philippine Elections? Here are some points to ponder!

Province of Sorsogon and Bicol Region Governor and senatorial candidate Francis "Chiz" Escudero answered questions from the media during his visit to Cebu. Escudero urges the next administration to support the Agriculture sector of the Philippines and strengthen efforts in revitalizing the economy which is still recovering from the aftermath Covid-19 pandemic and typhoon Odette.

Escudero stressed that the next administration should continue investing in infrastructure that will further develop the country’s economic sector. One of which is through providing support and strengthening the Build Build Build Program of the previous administration.

"Sana tigilan na natin yung ugali natin na porket ginawa ng nagda-ang administration hindi mo na ipagpapatuloy kasi gusto mo, may sarili ka naman. With a caveat.

As Tourism continues to be one of the sectors hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic, the senatorial candidate cited the lockdown, mandatory quarantine, and strict requirements as the reasons why tourism went down. He further emphasized the role of storytelling in fortifying tourism.

"Tourism is about the story that you tell. It's not about the beautiful beach, the beautiful scenery, the whole edifice." Escudero set Da Vinci's Mona Lisa as a prime example noting that millions of people visit Paris just to see the masterpiece in person. "We have our own stories to tell. I hope our tourism officials will realize that."

Earlier this year, President Rodrigo Duterte signed an executive order regarding the use of nuclear power in preparation for phasing out the use of coal-fired power plants over safety concerns. In line with this, electricity rates continue to surge all over the Philippines.

Governor Escudero said that he is open to any technologies that could provide Filipinos cheaper power alternatives under three conditions which include strict compliance with all environmental laws in the Philippines, agreeing with the requirements of the International Atomic Energy of the United Nations, and approval from the community members where the plants will be erected.

"When it comes to nuclear power plant, the principle of NIMB applies, NIMBI stands for not in my backyard. Galing ako duón tinanong ko ang mga officials ng Bataan, ang condition nila ay ito: Bagong planta, titignan namin kung ligtas talaga. Huwag na yung dati because that technology is at least forty years old already. Hindi sila sigurado kung magiging ligtas yun para sa kababayan nila. If those three conditions are applied, I have no objections to nuclear technology," Escudero stated.

Apart from the cost in building a power plant, he stressed that the kind of plant should be considered whether it's coal-fired, hydro, wind, or solar-powered. "Pipiliin ba natin ang mas malinis na mas mahal, o medyo madumi na mas mura. Medyo madumi na mas mabilis gawin, o medyo mahal na mas matagal gawin at mas malinis. Ito ang katanungan na dapat sagutin ng susunod na administration. "

Escudero also highlighted the shortage in the country's energy supply. This is something that the nation hasn't collectively recognized yet as it still focuses its attention on recovering from the pandemic and typhoon Odette. "Makikita natin yung brownout some time on the second quarter of this year," Escudero said, adding that no new plants have been built in the past five years. The lack of energy supply will pave way for power outages and higher energy bills for its consumers.

Escudero shared his plans to pass an Odette Rehabilitation Bill to uplift the local governments to recover from natural calamities. He also expressed his plans in submitting legislation in rehabilitating MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises), citing that more than ninety percent of the country's economic source is from MSMEs. He emphasized that this would help create more livelihood opportunities for Filipinos, and help entrepreneurs keep their businesses afloat.

When asked what kind of leader the country needs, Governor Escudero said that the next president can look into the slogans of the presidentiables. "Sana kung sino ang manalo, pagpulutan niya ng ideya at aral yung mga plataporma ng mga katunggali niya dahil wala namang pumipigil sa kanya an gawin yun 'pag siya na ang nanalo, yun ang presidente na hinahanap ko, at yun sana ang klase ng presidenteng gusto ko sanang makita matapos ang halalang ito. Ano man ang kulay na dinadala niya."

Escudero took the time to remind his listeners of the single rule in a democracy which is to follow the choice of the majority. "That's a principle or idea that we should all embrace since we live in a democracy."

He encourages voters to learn how to let the heat of the election pass once it's over, and not to look at our fellowmen based on who they voted for in the last election. "You should look at the person you are talking to as that person, not the color he or she brought in the last election. Walang maling boto sa halalan, dahil is a lamang ang sinusunod sa halalan, ang gusto ng nakararami. Kunga no man yun, karapatan ng bawat botante magpasya at sabihin yun," Escudero stressed.

Escudero authored several laws during his term as a senator including the Universal Healthcare Law, Free Tuition Fee in State Universities and Colleges, and Tax Exemption for Minimum Wage Earners.

Lately, I've been so stressed with a lot of weights on my plate. Thinking of work, blog, friends, and now, this Politics thing! Our family members are NOT supporting one set of candidates - we have our own choices and for me, ROSA for the WIN! At least, I am now decided for this coming Philippine Election 2022! We need Mothers to partner with and support our beloved fatherland, the Philippines! That's what I strongly believe in!

Today, I attended a PressCon for BBM-SARA with Cebu Media and Blogger. I was with my Cebu Bloggers Society friends. They have their own choice of Candidates and I have mine. Our organization, CBS, is neutral when it comes to Politics and all members respect that. So earlier, the presscon was attended by Gov. Gilbert Remulla, head of the BBM Parallel Group. It was a fruitful conversation between Cebu Media and BBM-SARA Team, that's why I decided to choose ROBREDO-SARA! I won't discuss further how and why, but you can listen to the podcast I recorded during the presscon below.

Now, let's go back to why I decided to choose RoSa! In case you did not know, ROSA stands for Presidential Candidate, VP-Leni Robredo and Vice-Presidential Candidate, Sara Duterte. ROSA - RObrido and SAra! Why Them?

Coco Martin, famously known as Cardo Dalisay on-screen, is making rounds all over as he debuts his endorsement not of the party list with the same name as his show, but of a new party-list – AP Partylist #AkoyPilipino on Friday, February 25.

Coco Martin Akoy Pilipino Party List

“Anuman ang hirap na ating pinagdadaanan, may kakampi na tayo…” Martin introduced his new party-list group with first nominee Rep. Ronnie Ong in-action in the background in the partylist’s video now circulating online.

Rep. Ronnie Ong is Coco Martin’s long-time friend and is nicknamed by PeopleAsia as the “frontliner Congressman.” Ong is known for his various out-of-the-box COVID-19 Bayanihan projects since the first lockdown, such as his #LibrengSakay program for healthworkers, #LibrengGulay program for community kitchens, #LibrengTablets and E-skwela Hub e-learning centers for students and teachers.

Before the pandemic, Ong also supported senior citizens looking for employment through his Tulong Pangkabuhayan program, deploying various able-bodied and willing-to-work seniors at airports, public universities and government agencies. During the pandemic, he also helped out-of-work transport workers such as UV Express or FX drivers by employing them as #LibrengSakay drivers, as well as some laid-off ABS-CBN employees who found alternative work as contact tracers.

More than just Coco Martin, the all-star cast of Ang Probinsyano forming the famed “Task Force Agila,” has also expressed their support for AP Partylist on their social media pages, sharing the various advocacies of AP Partylist closest to them. “Mula po noong umpisa nakasama na namin si Cong. Ronnie, at kita namin na nagtrabaho talaga siya, naglingkod talaga siya. Kaya ngayon, ang #164 AP Partylist na kasama siya ang sinusuportahan na namin. Sana po ay suportahan niyo rin,” Coco Martin said.

Aside from the endorsement video, AP Partylist also collaborated with OPM artists Bassilyo, Sisa and Smugglaz with their “Ako’y Pilipino,” anthem that sings of the pride, perseverance, and hardwork of Filipinos. They sing, “Ikaw ay magtiwala, magtiwalang may magagawa. Ito na ang panahon, ang tamang pagkakataon, sa bawat daing mo’y magtutugon. Ako’y Pilipinong lumalaban, tumatapang, lalo kung nasusugatan, anumang pagsubok ang daanan, haharapin nang may kagitingan. Itaas mo ang noo, isigaw mo sa buong mundo, ako’y Pilipino.” Both videos are available on Youtube and on AP Party-list’s official social media pages.

Coco Martin calls on the audience to join him on his new journey with his new partylist, “Dito na tayo sa biyaheng aasenso ang lahat ng Pilipino… AP Partylist #AkoyPilipino, number 164 sa balota.”
