Cebu means adventure! Aside from the island's rich in culture, tradition, food and delicacy and Cebuano hospitality, Cebu earned a trending signature to famous adventurous activities such as Canyoneering, Trekking, Sky Diving, Wakeboarding, Rock Climbing, among others. Indeed, Cebu is the best place for Merrell to getaway to adventure! Known as the global outdoor and lifestyle brand, Merrell invites everyone to escape the daily grind, be spontaneous and enjoy life’s adventures with, of course, their famous Brand Ambassador, James Reid.

A DAY AT THE PEAK AND CEBU'S FAMOUS WATERFALLS

Together with a number of Cebu Media and Digital movers, we met early as 3AM and get excited for a day that is full adventure and adrenaline rush as we were going to Southern Cebu's famous Peak and Waterfalls. It was 7 in the morning when we stretched our body and warmed up as we were ready to conquer the peak. But before anything else, we geared up with Merrell's Hydro Hiking shoes. I got my Waterpro Maipo and I got pumped up! Let's do this!

After enjoying the breathtaking view of Osmeña Peak, we headed to Southern Cebu's most visited Waterfalls, the Kawasan Falls! It's a weekday - a big Thursday but it was not a reason for Tourists and Locals to enjoy the cold water of the falls. It was a crowded Thursday but Cebu Media and Bloggers were still energized to hike from Level 1 going up to Level 3 of the waterfalls. If you happen to visit Kawasan many times, you would know that the path going up is not easy. It may look chill but roads were slippery and just a misplace landing of your foot means an injury. I am just very thankful we got Merrell Waterpro Maipo as it was safe to walk and trek. Aside from its very lightweight, Waterpro Maipo helps you run fast even on the wet or dry road as the mesh upper drains moisture and Air Cushion midsoles allow for amphibious ventures in the Maipo. Honestly, this is my new fave now!

I've been stressed in the past few days - not a work kind of stress but something personal. And that was a sign for me to do a quick climb! I'm not really sure what satisfaction I get every time I do trekking but every time I climb mountains with friends, it's fulfilling! Last weekend was another kind of short but a full sweat trek at the mountainous areas of Danao City.

Danao has been one of my comfy-travel destinations since I got closed with my Blogger friend Geezelle and her hubby, James who are living in this town. Geezelle runs a travel blog, Geemiz.com - yes, we share the same passion. This silent municipality offers a lot of travel spots for adventures and escapades such as Danasan Eco Adventure Park, Cebu Safari, and Adventure Park, Central Cebu Protected Landscape, among others.

That one-day trek thought me a lot of learnings. In one of the barangays we visited, Bngy, Mandayag, we had witnessed a number of women and their children who were doing some weaving craft for home furniture and decors of an international brand. They earned less than what they expected from their labor but seeing their smiles and laughs is the contentment that any money cannot buy.

    The outcome!

While we're less than a kilometer going to our destination, we saw this little kid - maybe one-year-old kid - very happy walking with his new pair of shoes while his mother was following him down the hill carrying something heavy. They are very happy. You know that genuine type of happiness you see in their eyes? Yes, that kind of happiness!

They were living a simple yet very happy life. A kind of life that rich people cannot find from their branded dresses, signature shoes and bags, big mansions and broken family and friends. I hope my readers and followers find this article worth a read. Sometimes, you need to disconnect from the online world and live simply and enjoy life to the fullest.

Nah! There's no ending for Summer season - I just love this time of the year! (Of course, next to Christmas and New Year!) But it's not good to have a hot season all throughout the year. So, I decided to name that last "Hurrah" as our Summer Ender activity. Because the struggles going to the top of Bocaue Peak are definitely real for non-hikers like me, so when we made it to the top of the mountain, we did our hurrah! Victory it is!

Some Bloggers and a group of friends went on a hike last Sunday. At first, we decided to go to RCPI Tower via long route but when we passed beyond the Seven Towers, we finally settled to experience the breath-taking views of the City and the Mountain as we stepped at the Peak of Bocaue! Yes, two side views in one Peak (Actually a panoramic view of Cebu)!

Our view from the second tower
It took us almost four hours to reach the Seven Towers located in the mountainous area of Barangay Babag, Cebu City. That climb was not easy as there are many muddy and slippery paths we conquered. Not to mention the heavy rain that we enjoyed during our way back to the City. We appreciate the patience and effort that "Tibu Padidit" have given to us. So basically, there are at least two choices in going to Bocaue Peak but we chose the trail from Napo to Bocaue then Bonbon as we went back to the City in the afternoon.

    Hello Second Tower!!!

No wonder, it is a training area of some of the mountain climbers. A number of obstacles welcomed us on our way to the top. There are thick shrub leaves and big lush of grasses, short hair-raising steeps, slippery downward slopes - to name a few ingredients of our adventure going to the top!

Last Saturday, together with my girlfriends, we conquered the infamous Mt. Mago in northern Cebu! It was just a week of preparation and we thought it was an easy hike as mentioned by some mountaineers' in their blogs. But we got "lucky" since the day before the hike, Cebu was experiencing heavy rains and as a result, we were trekking a muddy route going to the top! By the way, Mt. Mago hike is a fulfilling one, why? Because when you are able accomplish this so called "Boundary Climb" then you will be standing in three provinces of Cebu, namely Danao, Tuburan and Carmen!

At 8:10 AM, we arrived in Carmen Market to buy some lunch and of course, this Blogger is a chicken addict. So, the girls decided to buy lechon Chicken at Ogis.
At 8:30 AM, we got a motorcyle ride (Habal-Habal) from Carmen Market. Fare is PHP 100.00
By 9:10 AM, we arrived in Santikan Elementary School to secure the motorcycles. Good thing, our Habal-Habal driver decided to become our Guide going to the peak. It was his second or third time and we were amazed how professional and humble he is.
At 9:15 AM, we started the walk from Santikan to Mt. Mago Peak.
At 10:55 AM, we arrived at Mt. Mago Peak. It was almost an hour of hike and it was a "mid-easy-mid-average" walk. So it is recommended to wear hiking shoes most especially if it's raining - muds are everywhere!
At 11:21 AM, we started going down - going back to Santikan Elementary School.
By 1:30 PM, we finally arrived in Santikan Elementary School where the Habal-habal (motorcycle) was parked. We actually arrived late because in between our walks, we couldn't resist the beauty of nature and we got some snaps!
